dub?step  /ˈdʌbˌstɛp/ Show Spelled[duhb-step]

noun

a style of mostly instrumental electronic music, originating in London, influenced by dub and characterized by syncopated rhythm and an emphasis on bass and drum elements.

So what exactly sets this aside from all the other dance music characterized by syncopated rhythm and an emphasis on bass and drum elements?

Disappointed (and showing age) as I thought this was a discussion on steps to help older or less active people in to VW's (dubs)

Sigh, the youth of today and their fancy music terms, bring back ABBA is all I can say ;-)

Goes back to Horlicks and old geezer monthly

This is dubstep

but so it this

personally I like the former but detest the latter

What sets it apart from other EDM genres just comes down to tempo really

oh and often heavy sub-bass (the 'drop') although this isn't too noticeable unless you are in possession of unusually good speakers

    • I've seen it in the same place the past two Fridays. I'm assuming it's some sand that's left over from when the old sand filters failed. When that happened there was lots of sand on the bottom. I'm guessing it'll only go if they use a pool vacuum to clean the bottom.
    • Maybe because you would have thought such an incident  would have been publicised, or  someone on here would know what it was? On the face of it it seems odd, especially if they were on blues and twos, if there was no serious  reason for it. Unless, as I said, it was some kind of training exercise?
