...to the Queen!??! You've got to be fecking joking. I'd rather swear allegiance to a Cornish pasty!

What clown came up with this bright idea. Honestly, what do they think of school leavers in this country?

And what are you going to do to me if I don't....? Eh?

Pillocks, the lot of them.

Yeah, pledging allegiance to the monarchy I just what the disenfranchised need to make them feel needed. Perhaps they could arrange a weekly audience with the queen in Regents Park where the disaffected masses can gather to prostrate themselves before her. Nothing like some mass groveling to your oppressor to build community spirit.

That would be that crazy guy, Lord Goldsmith.

Apparently he's also considering awarding and MBE to each youngster who wears their baseball cap

the right way round and possibly awarding knighthoods to youths who are prepared to hitch their trousers up.

Obviously a forward-thinking mofo is Smith-E, and like totally down with the kids.

Lord Blingsmith has said that if any youngsters refuse to cooperate, the local rozzers will march

them to cash points and force them to cough up an ?80.00 fine, thereby combining two highly successful government initiatives.

Blingy, he just loves it when a plan comes together.

What a superb idea. Big Union jack in the corner of the classroom next to the gold framed portrait of HRH Elizabeth II. On another wall, a map of the world, proudly displaying in red, the countries that our military currently occupy and in blue, the remnants of the British Empire that are not yet republics. At the end of every school day a rousing chorus of the national anthem followed by an orderly march down to the school gates. Within a year or two our children will become disciplined, respectful, courteous and prepared to lay down their lives if needed against the axis of evil. God save the Queen.

looks like the idea's been misrepresented in the media:

Goldsmith defended his recommendations, saying the ceremonies need not necessarily involve an oath of allegiance to the Queen.

"It can be a pledge of commitment to the country; it can be a statement of what the rights and responsibilities of citizens are," he said.

A teenage spokesman has issued the following statement.

"Myself and my members reject the notion of swearing an oath of allegiance to the queen on the grounds

that the others are all p*ss taking f@ckers and would never stop dissing us if they found out.

However my members are open to the idea of swearing an oath towards her majesty and would be prepared to communally spit some lyrics to this effect.

Any future negotiations would have to take place on this basis"

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

God save the Queen

The fascist regime

They made you a moron

Potential H-bomb

God save the queen

She ain't no human being

There is no future

In England's dreaming

Don't be told what you want

Don't be told what you need

There's no future, no future,

No future for you

God save the queen

We mean it man

We love our queen

God saves

God save the queen

'Cause tourists are money

And our figurehead

Is not what she seems

Oh God save history

God save your mad parade

Oh Lord God have mercy

All crimes are paid

When there's no future

How can there be sin

We're the flowers in the dustbin

We're the poison in your human machine

We're the future, your future

God save the queen

We mean it man

We love our queen

God saves

God save the queen

We mean it man

And there is no future

In England's dreaming

No future, no future,

No future for you

No future, no future,

No future for me

No future, no future,

No future for you

No future, no future

For you

    • He did mention it's share of freehold, I’d be very cautious with that. It can turn into a nightmare if relationships with neighbours break down. My brother had a share of freehold in a flat in West Hampstead, and when he needed to sell, the neighbour refused to sign the transfer of the freehold. What followed was over two years of legal battles, spiralling costs and constant stress. He lost several potential buyers, and the whole sale fell through just as he got a job offer in another city. It was a complete disaster. The neighbour was stubborn and uncooperative, doing everything they could to delay the process. It ended in legal deadlock, and there was very little anyone could do without their cooperation. At that point, the TA6 form becomes the least of your worries; it’s the TR1 form that matters. Without the other freeholder’s signature on that, you’re stuck. After seeing what my brother went through, I’d never touch a share of freehold again. When things go wrong, they can go really wrong. If you have a share of freehold, you need a respectful and reasonable relationship with the others involved; otherwise, it can be costly, stressful and exhausting. Sounds like these neighbours can’t be reasoned with. There’s really no coming back from something like this unless they genuinely apologise and replace the trees and plants they ruined. One small consolation is that people who behave like this are usually miserable behind closed doors. If they were truly happy, they’d just get on with their lives instead of trying to make other people’s lives difficult. And the irony is, they’re being incredibly short-sighted. This kind of behaviour almost always backfires.
    • I had some time with him recently at the local neighbourhood forum and actually was pretty impressed by him, I think he's come a long way.
    • I cook at home - almost 95% of what we eat at home is cooked from scratch.  But eating out is more than just having dinner, it is socialising and doing something different. Also, sometimes it is nice to pay someone else to cook and clear up.
