To update on trains: no trains running via Nunhead/Peckham Rye/Denmark Hill on the First Capital Connect Route. Trains are diverted to Victoria, so running via these stations from Victoria to Dartford and Orpington at a 4 trains per hour schedule.

I tried to catch a train from Peckham Rye station this morning and according to Trainline.com, every single train from about 8am into London was cancelled or severely delayed. I therefore decided to stay on the 363 bus to Elephant and caught the tube from there. A lot of other people also got on the bus at Peckham Rye station, saying they'd tried to catch a train but it was proving impossible. The bus was so full that it didn't stop for most of the journey to Elephant!

I just hope the trains are working again tonight, as I'm not to keen on getting the 12 all the way back to East Dulwich!

To update Annabel,

unfortunately, the gritting lorry can't get further up Honor Oak Rise as it's to large to turn round at the top. However, it has been organised for the upper part of the road to be hand treated with salt/grit.

How are the roads today? Debating whether cycling into town is a good idea or not. By the end of yesterday roads near me were very icy.

Main roads appear to be fine, you might want to walk your bike off the side roads katanita, as they were still icy earlier, and I doubt that will have changed much.

Agree with Twirly - cycling on main roads was fine this morning, but avoided side roads. Does seem to have been a lot of thawing today, so hopefully temperature won't drop too much tonight and freeze it all again...

I'm painting my front room! so I'm glad I'm not going out!! It is very windy, and the snow is blowing around! can't believe this time last week we had that big orange thing in the sky and I had windows open, thought it was spring!!

UK weather is just so variable!

In contrast if you lived in (say) the Amazon rain forest the weather is more or less the same very day. You could just use the same forecast every day.
