Jogging in the snow

Was just getting into a good jogging routine and shedding my Christmas belly then it starts bloody snowing. Does anyone jog in the snow or is that asking for trouble? Any tips?

Could be dangerous. Maybe it might be safer on the grass.

You get to a certain age when snow is perceived as dangerous because you might slip and break something. If you fall and break something you will be laid up and potentially could put on more weight. Do exercises indoors until it disappears imho.

Running in the snow is a joy. Short steps, avoid ice, run on snow that isn't compacted.

Running on snow where the ground is even mildly uneven can injure your back or joints, a small dip in the ground or an old hole or clump of grass unseen is all it takes.

I've seen a number of snow joggers lately. I can read the "oh yes-nothing will stop me jogging" smugness on their faces.

One was running down the middle of the road yesterday by the Horniman's, giving the odd car who berated him the "middle finger"

I think I saw his 'soft' cousin - planking down Dovercourt rd today, middle of the road, on skis and with ski-poles, the full alpine bit. He was also walking (skiing?) a tiny dog on a long lead. The dog trotted miserably along, eyes glued to the ground blushing furiously.

On my way to Herne Hill yesterday a guy was jogging topless along Green Dale.

Impressive but still a twat.

Reminds me of the "tango man" at Sheff Weds.
