Passes urgent note to Ms Polly Dorner:

"Never buy any other wedding magazine - only Martha Stewart Weddings from WH Smith in Victoria - you will see why when you buy it, please????"

Smiles to self as remembers organising great roller coaster of a wedding extravaganza in only six months.

Sobers up suddenly at thought of organising a fabulous party...

*comes in to relax after being annoyed by the forum falling over*

*walks behind folded japanese screen, walks out wearing orange double-breasted terrycloth bathrobe similar to the one Steve McQueen was wearing in The Thomas Crown Affair on TV last night*

*picks up a glass of Polly's wine, nods in appreciation and slides into filled hot tub with added relaxing bath oils*

Steps out from behind folded Japanese screen wearing white Calvin Klein Bikini and red nail polish.

Removes large white rimmed Stella McCartney sunglasses and places on card table next to chums.

Runs fingers through long glossy (currently dark and certainly never a hint of red) hair.

Smiles and accepts cold glass of iced water from Ana the au pair, slides into hot tub in demure manner.

Sighs and breaths aroma of relaxing bath oils deeply.

*emerges from a point in time-space with a pop and resumes customary bodily proportions*

*discovers own right hand to be occupied by something*

*invesigates further and is relieved to find it is a chilled glass of white wine*

*investigates further*

*finds said investigation pleasant and relaxing*

*continues*

*hears the schoolboy-like giggling in the background and guesses it's Keef sniggering about DM entering the hottub in her bikini*

*smiles as he remembers his sunglasses are really dark and allows eyes to look where ever they want without being caught*

*smiles to DM and hands her a glass of Polly's finest whilst half expecting Keef to dive-bomb into the tub*

Wafts into lounge, realises that the pads from new Cleo facial exercising machine are still stuck to face, rushes behind Japanese screen.

Decides as no-one seems to be here yet, to plug in and give self a further 'lift'.

Hopes no-one is curious of buzzing sound behind screen.

    • Hi Sue, they were not local solicitors. Andrea’s was based in Wales and the other firms involved were large nationwide conveyancing companies (rather than conventional high street solicitors). I’m happy to advise clients and buyers privately on what I believe to be their shortcomings but I don’t think doing so in public on the forum would be appropriate, particularly as they are not locally based. My general advice would always be to steer clear of the big conveyancing companies as they are, in my experience, notoriously difficult to contact when the need arises and the case handler is often not a fully qualified solicitor and so issues have to be referred upwards to “technical teams” internally, which was part of the problem in Andrea’s chain. • A slightly vulnerable but hopeful post… Hi everyone, I’m a guy in my mid-thirties who’s recently moved back to London and East Dulwich (I previously lived here for many years before, so I know the area well). But if I’m honest, I’ve found the return a little tough. Most of my close friends have moved out of London to start families — totally understandable — but it’s left me feeling a bit adrift and not quite sure how to make new connections again. Work has taken up a huge chunk of my life in recent years, and I’ve definitely let hobbies, interests and a proper social life fall by the wayside. I feel like I went from a fun social life in my 20’s to suddenly blinking and realising things had gone a bit er…quiet. So, I’m trying to redress the balance a bit — mainly so myself and my partner don’t murder each other 😂, and just to meet some new local faces. I was wondering: is anyone else in a similar boat? And would there be any interest in starting a relaxed, low-key local social group? Could be a casual pub meet, sports, park hangouts, live comedy nights — open to ideas!  I’m happy to do the organising/admin side of things — just wanted to put it out there and see if there’s any appetite. I’ll gauge interest and take it from there.  If you’d prefer not to reply publicly, feel free to drop me a DM.  Cheers all! 👋
    • It's Inner London. You could move somewhere else?
