Had Terry fit 7 internal doors yesterday with all new attachments. It was a difficult job as frames and floors are far from square. Terry worked relentlessly non stop and completed the job to a great standard. He will be back soon for more work to be carried out.

There's nothing better than finding someone to do an irritating little job, at short notice and for very decent money.

Called Terry this morning, fitted me in this afternoon on his way home. Bosh. Job done. Perfect.

Have now started a list...Jobs for Terry. Thanx!! :0)

I would like to thank and recommend terry to all EDF users i called Terry up on saturday night around 9:30pm i told him that i had turned the cooker on and there was a loud bang fro the back of my cooker i'm sure Terry picked up on me feeling a little scared and told me he would be round within 30mins. about 15minutes later he was here and had sorted out the problem even at night he was very polite and understanding i had no lights in the house and all my electric had gone out i didn't know what to do other than to call my local handyman.

ladies if you need a handyman than try Terry he really is very good call him on 07717572036

Terry thank you so much for your help your a knight in shinning armour.

Hi

I recently had Terry round to put together some furniture for me. I found his work very through and he was very punctual, very efficent and I would trust him to do much more in my home. He is hardworking and very friendly. I would throughly recommend him. His rates are also great value. When he came to look at the job, he even fixed the oven door I had managed to pull of the hinge earlier in the day without a moments hesitation.

Thank you so much Terry.

Called terry today about a sink leak in my bathroom he came straight over and in a flash he had the problem fixed while he was here i got him to hang a few pictures that i have never got round to doing myself and also help move around some very heavy furniture. I found terry to be very polite extremely helpful and willing to go out of his way to help others hes rates are very cheap for what is asked of him

thanks terry will be calling again as soon as i find something for you to do

Also want to add my name to the Terry appreciation society. I called him on Monday morning about a leak and he fixed it that day plus had a look at a couple of other niggling jobs which he fixed on the spot. Have booked him to come back and do the other snagging list items. Very reasonable prices too. Extremely happy to have found someone so good and so local.

I wanted to say a big thank you to Terry for coming over this weekend and fixing my garden gate. My dog managed to get out of my garden and luckily the dog warden brought him back i called Terry on the saturday afternoon and he was over within an hour or two fixing the gate it is now stronger than it was before and i have started to make a list of other jobs for Terry to undertake. If you need a handyman please use terry he's a great guy and a fantastic handyman he's very helpful and his rates are very very fare. Call him on 07717572036

Thanks again terry hope to see you soon

Called Terry a few days ago to undertake some jobs around the house i.e. hanging pictures, putting some flat pack furniture together and to change some mixer taps in the bath for me. I was extremely happy with how quick Terry completed the jobs in hand he didn't stop for a break not once despite being offered tea he is very hard working and dedicated to the job at hand

i would say Terry is one of those guys you can feel at ease if and trust to the what you have asked of him

I have used Terry for a number of jobs and he is excellent!! He has done loads including painting our fences and decking, other garden work, flat pack furniture, putting up blinds and curtains, decorating and other bits and bobs. I have booked him in for more jobs! I trust him and have left him in my house which I think is very important this day and age. He tidies up after himself, leaves everywhere spotless and turns up on time. I would thoroughly recommend Terry!!

Another recommendation for Terry - he came yesterday to fit door locks.

Did this very efficiently and neatly.

I also asked him to do various other jobs that have been on the 'to do' list for ages -

he had all the right tools and managed to solve problems to complete all jobs quickly, neatly and professionally.

A really nice, reliable guy.

I'll be using him again, and would fully recommend to others.

    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
    • That is also a Young's pub, like The Cherry Tree. However fantastic the menu looks, you might want to ask exactly who will cook the food on the day, and how. Also, if  there is Christmas pudding on the menu, you might want to ask how that will be cooked, and whether it will look and/or taste anything like the Christmas puddings you have had in the past.
    • This reminds me of a situation a few years ago when a mate's Dad was coming down and fancied Franklin's for Christmas Day. He'd been there once, in September, and loved it. Obviously, they're far too tuned in to do it, so having looked around, £100 per head was pretty standard for fairly average pubs around here. That is ridiculous. I'd go with Penguin's idea; one of the best Christmas Day lunches I've ever had was at the Lahore Kebab House in Whitechapel. And it was BYO. After a couple of Guinness outside Franklin's, we decided £100 for four people was the absolute maximum, but it had to be done in the style of Franklin's and sourced within walking distance of The Gowlett. All the supermarkets knock themselves out on veg as a loss leader - particularly anything festive - and the Afghani lads on Rye Lane are brilliant for more esoteric stuff and spices, so it really doesn't need to be pricey. Here's what we came up with. It was considerably less than £100 for four. Bread & Butter (Lidl & Lurpak on offer at Iceland) Mersea Oysters (Sopers) Parsnip & Potato Soup ( I think they were both less than 20 pence a kilo at Morrisons) Smoked mackerel, Jerseys, watercress & radish (Sopers) Rolled turkey breast joint (£7.95 from Iceland) Roast Duck (two for £12 at Lidl) Mash  Carrots, star anise, butter emulsion. Stir-fried Brussels, bacon, chestnuts and Worcestershire sauce.(Lidl) Clementine and limoncello granita (all from Lidl) Stollen (Lidl) Stichelton, Cornish Cruncher, Stinking Bishop. (Marks & Sparks) There was a couple of lessons to learn: Don't freeze mash. It breaks down the cellular structure and ends up more like a French pomme purée. I renamed it 'Pomme Mikael Silvestre' after my favourite French centre-half cum left back and got away with it, but if you're not amongst football fans you may not be so lucky. Tasted great, looked like shit. Don't take the clementine granita out of the freezer too early, particularly if you've overdone it on the limoncello. It melts quickly and someone will suggest snorting it. The sugar really sticks your nostrils together on Boxing Day. Speaking of 'lost' Christmases past, John Lewis have hijacked Alison Limerick's 'Where Love Lives' for their new advert. Bastards. But not a bad ad.   Beansprout, I have a massive steel pot I bought from a Nigerian place on Choumert Road many years ago. It could do with a work out. I'm quite prepared to make a huge, spicy parsnip soup for anyone who fancies it and a few carols.
    • Nothing to do with the topic of this thread, but I have to say, I think it is quite untrue that people don't make human contact in cities. Just locally, there are street parties, road WhatsApp groups, one street I know near here hires a coach and everyone in the street goes to the seaside every year! There are lots of neighbourhood groups on Facebook, where people look out for each other and help each other. In my experience people chat to strangers on public transport, in shops, waiting in queues etc. To the best of my knowledge the forum does not need donations to keep it going. It contains paid ads, which hopefully helps Joe,  the very excellent admin,  to keep it up and running. And as for a house being broken into, that could happen anywhere. I knew a village in Devon where a whole row of houses was burgled one night in the eighties. Sorry to continue the off topic conversation when the poor OP was just trying to find out who was open for lunch on Christmas Day!
