louisiana
dulwichmumI think we'd prefer it to be referred to as fuzz, not beards. Facial fuzz (soft and fair, invisible to all but the most close examination) has certain connotations; bearded ladies, something quite different. 'All the fun of the fair' would never again have the same meaning for us. dulwichmum
Darling Louisiana,Clearly you are too young to have witnessed the random facial whiskers of a Welsh mother in law! Chartwell
Dear DM,I wouldn't dream of making fun of such an important event in a woman's life as the day when the 'french lady' no longer calls!Getting back to the subject of this thread - has anyone seen Little Red Riding Hood in ED?C. Jah Lush
I saw her last night actually being hotly persued by the three beards along Lordship Lane. Incitatus
Would that be "three beards" of the whisker or the Katie Holmes variety ? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/299-seen-anyone-famous-in-east-dulwich/page/6/#findComment-9365 Share on other sites
Jah Lush
I'm not sure, could be the whiskered sort but please tell me what is the Katie Holmes variety? Incitatus
Allegedly Katie Holmes enjoys what was once described in old school Hollywood parlance as a lavender marriage, but now days you would refer to her as Tom Cruise's beard - as in disguise. Jah Lush
Ah! I see. So if Tom allegedly enjoys a cruise does that make him a player of the pink oboe? I think we should be told don't you? Come out of your closet dear, you're fooling no one but yourself. Jah Lush
Terribly sorry Dulwich Mum but sometimes I just can't help myself. I do love to lower the tone. Happy Easter to you and I do so hope that the Easter Bunny brings you lots of chocolate. Incitatus
Actually, when he was with Ms Kidman (a case of mutual bearding, allegedly) wasn't there a rumour circulating Dulwich that Tom Cruise was moving within spitting distance of the Toll Gate, perhaps that was why. Jah Lush
Yes, the biggest house on the left 50 yards past Oddbins as you head towards the park. Opposite Pickwick Road. They were spotted in the Dog at around the same time so it could have been true, but it has passed into Dulwich myth and legend. SimonM
I thought Ms Kidman rented that house for 6 months whilst she appeared in "The Blue Room"? dulwichmum
Dear Mr Chartwell,The inhabitants of Underhill Road I was referring to were Mr Hancock (the corner) and Ms L Barker (she owns two houses there I believe).DM Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/299-seen-anyone-famous-in-east-dulwich/page/6/#findComment-9425 Share on other sites
SimonM
>>The inhabitants of Underhill Road I was referring to were Mr Hancock (the corner<<I am not sure he has lived there for a while. The house went on the market again very soon after he moved in, and the estate agent's "For Sale" sign remained up for ages as the front garden got more and more overgrown and dilapidated. I am not sure though whether he ever sold up - the "Stoke City FC" stained glass window is still in the bedroom window visible from the rear! - although the house is now clearly occupied again. dulwichmum
No, he has gone a long time, but he did live there once. His wife is a local of East Dulwich I belive. Incitatus
Reckon he must have had it with cars crashing into his garden wall, there was a time when it seemed as if the great and good of (the smart end of) Underhill where woken by a crash, bang, wallop every other month. Jah Lush
I had no idea about her accent as I was only really on nodding terms with them. I live a few doors up from the house and would invariably bump into them now and again. They seemed a very nice couple. Nero
Not very specific this, but my neighbour and pal told me she saw a man she recognised in the Uplands a while back. She couldn't place him but then got talking to him and he told her he was an actor and had been in Troy with Brad Pitt. Don't know his name, but he lives on CP Road.
