Morning all!!!

Just wanted to say myself and Mrs Strawbs had a brilliant time last night, after getting over the initial nerves I found you all and had a great time!!

Feel pretty hungover this morning but Im off to a bday lunch today so nothing a hair of the dog wont fix!!

>:D<

Another great night - missing a few regulars, but lots of new faces - most of whom I didn't get round to meeting.

Did manage to meet Mrs Brendan (Brendan, tell her from me she's fabulous and I'm still smiling at the idea of her woo-hooing out of her window, Bagpuss (our neighbour!), Hannah6_6, and Strawbs very briefly in the ladies - hopefully you and jaws are completely convince about moving to ED now.

Lovely to see evreyone else again especially the ever lovely Bellenden Belle and Moos, although as always no time for a proper gossip.

Oh and Keef, I know you did, I'm a bit nervous, but I'll do it....

Another lovely evening spent with the fine folk of ED! Great to meet new faces too, EmeryWD/Strawbs/Jaws/Louisisna/David_Carnell & Hannah (x2!) - great you made it it for the 1st time - hope to see you all again!

Azul - the flat hunt continues - keep your eyes peeled for us! I imagine your new toilet hunt may be a bit more desperate..!

Had a great time, although as always had to slink off very early... boo.

Fab to see Steve, Georgia, Annaj, BN5, Brendan, Bagpuss, Allycat, BB, David, Hannah6_6, Nyge and Sue, and to meet some people new to me - Mogs and Mr. Mogs, Floating Onion (now I get the name!), Keef - our paths finally crosssed, hurrah - and the lovely Strawbs & Jaws, ED's newest residents-to-be.

See you in June!

Unfortunately I had to miss the last drinks which is a shame as it seems there were many new faces to meet. I'm up for the Herne. I'm boycotting The Vale ever since a heavily pregnant Mrs LL was refused use of the loo some time ago. Second choice would be The Alleyns Head. Not a very attractive pub but decent range of Ale and a huge outdoor area so that smokers and non smokers can mix.

June 6th sounds good - D-Day! Yesterday Mockers showed me a rather daft headline in one of the local rags advertising an entertainment - "Enjoy the full D-Day Experience!" - not really, watch the first 5 minutes of Saving Private Ryan to get a feel for the "D-Day Experience". Pillocks. Rant over.

Anyway, the Herne sounds fun. Anybody know if the Vale has had a change of management? The NTV policy of some of us could change if they have new management.

    • I disagree with the who concept of tidying one room at a time. I find it's more effective to increase the overall level of tidy by 10% regularly, and take regular breaks.  Always straighten your bed first - your bed is your priority and your haven. Change the sheets if you have clean ones to use. 1. pick up all rubbish around the house; take it out. 2. pick up all crockery etc that needs a wash: put it all in one place and start to sort it out. Wash and dry whatever you can put away easily. Wash things by type - I'll do cups then plates, then cutlery, then pots..... 3. Kitchen surfaces - tidy things you can, be ruthless - everything is going to need a home. Sweep the floor, wipe the surfaces. 4. Pick up all laundry around the house. Start to sort it out so you are in control of it - wash types together - eg all sheets.  4. bathroom - so on..... Then, the entire house is an better environment. and you can just keep going.
    • There was me overcome with memories of articles in women's magazines from the 1950s advising their readers how to be a good housewife and thinking it's like feminism never happened. Until I read the last paragraph. Be warned, this is PR from someone who runs a cleaning company.
    • Carpet can be a pain at times, the maintenance takes effort. I’ll look into that spray as a handy in-between for freshening things up. Steam cleaners are becoming more popular too and definitely seem more hygienic than a mop and bucket.
    • I've found it quite a useful thread.  Apparently protein powders are toxic. Not that I have ever, or will ever, try them.   https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/the-hidden-dangers-of-protein-powders
