"Handbagged" at the Tricycle Theatre is very good, especially if you're remotely interested in politics and/or the '80s. You can get there on the Jubilee Line very easily from London Bridge or on the Bakerloo Line. Top tickets are ?26 but the single seats on the balcony at the sides are very good value at around half that price.

Let The Right One In, which I saw at the Royal Court before Christmas and is transferring to the West End. I can recommend it highly but it is scary.

I saw 1984 at the Almeida last week. Very well done but a bit grim (obviously).

Next week me and Hibbs are going to see the lovely and talented Lesley Sharp in A Taste of Honey. It is getting good reviews.

Blimey! Didn't know there was a theatre production of that. The book and the original film are fantastic.

Yes, very well done at the Royal Court. Outstanding. If you book your tickets for the West End play via the Royal Court, you get a better deal. Here's a link

Cheers, might try and give that a bash.

Just Googled him. Still with us. 81 years old and still going strong. Fantastic. Might go to this production on the strength that he is in it. Childhood heroes of mine were the men from U.N.C.L.E

The Weir is pants, and reviews completly wrong. Assume it was reviewed when at Donmar, and it hasn't travelled well.

Last month I went to see Alan Ayckbourn's 'A Small Family Business' and was very lucky to get to a dress rehearsal of 'Great Britain' starring Robert Glenister and (don't laugh) Billie Piper and I have to say the latter former pop star was surprisingly good. As were most of the cast to be fair.

Billie Piper is a very natural actor.

Meanwhile, if you're after something classy in the Fringe, I can recommend Flowers Of The Field at the White Bear, by Kevin Mandry. Those of you from Sussex area might particular be interested but it is a very sweet poignant play. Finishes this Sunday I think.

Greenwich Theatre is currently showing three LAMDA final year productions (until Tuesday 15th). Talented young actors, an interesting mix of plays (take your pick from Tennessee Williams, Martin Crimp or Stella Feehily via George Farquhar) and very reasonable ticket prices - what's not to like?

I saw Skylight last night. Excellent. A great script and really well acted, (especially cooking the ragu). You'll love it.

Great! Good to have a "real person" review.

    • Wow, never had a disappointing meal there since they opened.. guess like every establishment, depends on the chef.. All for allowing an off day - good of you to post.. much better than chains - had awful service at Gail’s for eg..be it cake and tea or a meal.. They are so nice and accommodating..
    • "I tried Viet Flavour and was disappointed.  Their summer rolls especially were not at all good, stodgy and flavourless.  Pho-OK.  I'm hoping it will get better " Back in June I posted as above.  I am glad to report that either the first time I went the restaurant was having an off day, or they have upped their game.  I ordered the same things.  The summer roll was exactly as it should be, and had a lovely dipping sauce. The Pho was delicious.  My brother who was with me wanted to give it 10/10 but I always think you should leave room for improvement so gave it 9/10.  Staff were lovely.  I am so glad because I love Vietnamese food and now think I have a very good one just round the corner.
    • So do I, and I started it!!!  I have changed title.

But people will still give him a pass they won’t starmer    see also:  Trump vs Biden
