Nine inch nails are a band that have been around ages, and I've never really listened to them much. Then I went to Reading this year and was blown away by their set! This song was the last, and it sent shivers down my spine, it's one of the most powerful live performances I've ever seen, and it's beautiful.

Some people may know of it as a Johnny Cash song, but he actually covered NIN.

Nine Inch Nails - Hurt

Good shout Keef - I've seen them live many a time at Brixton and the last time they did that on just piano

There is a live DVD which has a full on version and their Glastonbury 2000 version I have on VHS somewhere is good too

(no idea which one you just posted - work filters and all that)

Nout soft about that, they are some of the most heart felt lyrics I can think of! *whispers* between you and me, I was close to letting a tear go at Reading (it really was a moving performance), but my friends would've beat me up, so gave Mrs Keef a big hug instead (thus hiding my face from the lads).

Aw, Keef ... You are spot-on about the lyrics tho.

I once reduced a mate (who's a black-belt martial-arts type) to a blubbering mess once when I played him Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and Memories of the Alhambra.

Anyone else got a particular song that makes their eyes water? (ie not in a cringeworthy way!)

Great tune charlie

Here you go barry, I've posted it up before http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,7146,8752#msg-8752

and if you catch me in the right mood, but only if I get a bit of dust in my eye obviously

Penguin Caf? Orchestra - Perpetuum Mobile

Ideally we'd have southern jukebox music but noones uploaded it.

They'll have to be filed under guilty pleasures charlie, as I rather enjoyed them!!

The latter reminded me of an old tune called Ansaphone by Jonny L for some reason, couldn't find it anywhere (well, I had it on vinyl, but leant most of my old dance vinyl to a mate who ran off to New Zealand with it all!!

Here's some stuff from his old label mates

Prodigy - Charly purest cheese.

Cool tune Ben.

That France Gall is a top spot - nice one. My Tube Fu is stronger!

Brigitte Bardot - Contact

And if we're doing classic rave, don't even mess! I was top DJ boy way back when. OK I'm a shadow of my former stuffed with vinyl DJ box carrying dude. But I still offer:

Noise Overload - Right Here Right Now

Rhythm For Reasons - The Grand National (Tango Remix)

One more..

Satin Storm - Think I'm Going Out of my Head (one of my faves)

    • The MFI was probably where Iceland is now. This post makes me feel very old - went to a 30th birthday party in the garden at the back. Oh to be 30 again!
    • Anyone upgraded their TV for Christmas?! I'm looking for a smallish Smart TV I can use with earbuds. Not more than 56cm high and  25cm deep. A 26" one used to fit.  Thanks!
    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
