char1i3
I found the people in Green and Blue rude once so never went back in the six or so years that it has been on Lordship Lane. Good luck to the incoming people!Charlie Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/30964-activity-in-the-green-and-blue-premises/page/2/#findComment-633284 Share on other sites

I wasn't surprised to see them fail. Hoping for something better this time. cjackson
They opened Soif in battersea about a year ago (I think) and have since opened a fourth on st martins lane. All excellent food and wine, would be an excellent addition to LL Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/30964-activity-in-the-green-and-blue-premises/page/2/#findComment-633504 Share on other sites
LondonMix
I wonder what this one will be called? Soif means Thirst in French so my guess is the name will at least be French! mamafeelgood
Iceland farm shop sounds interesting, though not sure about the restricted access as you're just being a snob there... Jeremy
If it's anything like Soif, expect it to be slightly cheaper than Franklins/Palmerston, but more expensive than eating at G&B. lounge lizard
It's got to better than green and blue, I wanted to like it but the staff member who stood outside blowing smoke at me and my pram annoyed me on multiple occasions. The final straw was spending ?80 on a couple of bottles of wine and being told we don't do bags - don't worry I'll juggle them home Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/30964-activity-in-the-green-and-blue-premises/page/2/#findComment-634039 Share on other sites
Jeremy
I never understood the bag thing. It wouldn't have killed them to stock a few ?1 reusable bags or wine carriers. maria
The bag thing was part of their environmental policy which I agree with. They did sell canvas ones. Doesn't take much to take a bag with you. indiepanda
If someone is spending ?80 on wine I think it would be reasonable to give them a cheap canvas bag. It's all very well having an environmental policy but if it puts people off shopping with you it's hardly good business. Can't now remember how I did get it home without dropping it :(Environmentally friendly is all very well (and great to encourage people to use their own bags, as for example SMBS do), but not when it positively inconviences your customers. Jeremy
To be fair, it sounds like they listened to the feedback and started selling canvas bags... so shouldn't hold it against them. HopOne
Agreed - I had encountered this too.An off licence should always be able to offer a box, at least, to those that want one. Even if you had the wit to carry a spare bag it may not be up to the job in this case.
