What the main pie shop on the High street called? We were there a few months a go for the match and spent the afternoon in a pub called the Chop House. It was a late kick off and we suddenly realised we were starving. One of the lads popped out and came back with these pies. They were amazing.

In my gentle hands yes Steveo. It started yesterday with a brining.

You're possibly thinking of burnt-to-fekk-char-grilling-by-idiots

But slow, moist and gentle. Cooked with wood and charcoal indirectly, is very good.

@AnnetteCurtain - it's probably taken me the same amount of time to read this hiLARIOUS post (Louisa: so good she signs her name twice) as it has for you to make that deelish offering! Jealous, and will take inspiration for BBQ tomorrow. I'll be inviting my neighbour who sells Street haute-dogs for ?6-?12 although I've never had one for more than ?4. Love street food and could go on but am exhausted by the abject misery of certain posters...anyway enjoy that. nom nom....

Top tip is brining. It's the 'thing' that absolutely changes everything.

  • 3 weeks later...

If you fancy a change of scenery the new Crystal Palace Food Market (just off the triangle down Haynes Lane) has some great street food - including 'flying tapas' and 'mass ass chilli' this Saturday. Get there early though as it's pretty popular:

    • Bit of a long-shot, but I dropped my glasses somewhere along my run last night, after taking them off due to the rain. The glasses are Giorgio Armani with grey frames. My running route attached, so they could be anywhere along this route. If you've found them, please get in touch! 07971806292 Many thanks James
    • I'm in the middle of the civil service pension crisis with no pension for 4 months and counting. No access to the much publicised loans either. I have emailed Helen Hayes several times. It took her 6 weeks to contact Capita on my behalf but no follow up, no reply, she didn't attend the Westminster Hall debate about the issue either. Lots of other MPs are speaking and acting on behalf of their constituents but I've had no joy. Has anyone else please? What works to get help from Helen Hayes?
    • Our cat Suki has gone missing from Keston Road near Goose Green. Please let us know if you see her anywhere or can check your sheds and gardens. You can contact us me on 07980308743 or [email protected].  Thanks Chris
    • Our car was stolen from in front of our house on Scutari Rd, SE22 last night. Black S Max If anyone sees it around please get in touch. I'm currently on phone to police and insurers. Mark - 07793591921
