Recommendation for Dave the Cooker man - cooker repair

Totally agree with recommends for Dave the Cookerman. He's now come to fix my cooker twice, for different problems, both sorted in a quick visit and on a Saturday too! On the second visit he remembered the problem from the first time round even though it was nearly a year before! Outstanding.

I'd like to add to these recommendations for Dave.

He came earlier in the year to fix our oven - quickly worked out what the problem, fixed it and only charged call out fee (which was very reasonable).

This week there seemed to be another problem with it. He came the next day and spent an hour testing it fully.

You wonder what all the hype about 'Dave the Cookerman' and then you have a problem with you cooker - super quick to respond, fixed in no time and was an absolute top guy. Honest and reliable - so refreshing in these times - like plenty of others I felt compelled to recommend him.... Good on you Dave the Cookerman.

Just wanted to add another word of praise for Dave the Cooker Man. He came out quickly to look at a hob ignition problem and did a very thorough and quick job. He came up with a simple solution to the problem, and as he didn't have to spend long on it, he didn't charge.

Would definitely use Dave again and highly recommend.

I'm happy to be posting another very high recommendation for Dave the Cooker man. He came today to replace the flame safety device on our cooker, found it didn't after all need replacing, but checked and explained a whole lot of things, then wouldn't take any payment for the call-out. He's so friendly, cheerful and knowledgeable - I'll certainly call him back as soon as I need help again with the cooker.

My smeg oven broke down last week. After reading all these amazing reviews I decided to call Dave. I left him a message and he got back to me straight away. He was able to come to the house the next day. The oven needed a new part which he had in his van. He changed the part, and fixed the oven in no time. At the same time and with no extra charge he fixed the grill and the oven light!

He was friendly, professional and good value for money. I would thoroughly recommend him

His contact details are available earlier in this thread and haven?t changed

The element in my Smeg range died on Saturday while cooking lunch. I called Dave from Pegasus at 12:15 and a little over an hour later we were up and running again AND with a fixed gas ring too.

Super polite, tidy and a general all round nice bloke. Can't recommend him highly enough.

    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
