What's 'Petals' - or maybe that's the point....?

Hi,

If Booteeki has closed down it will be rather sad for all the parents that took their little ones to see Father Christmas. He was at Booteeki for three years, and the grotto was quite magical.

I think the reason it has closed is because of all the new children's clothes shop springing up in East Dulwich.

More likely because it was far too expensive and there just aren't enough parents in ED prepared to pay top whack for designer baby/toddler clothes - despite the hype.

You make him sound like an high-class escort.

He may be so, of course.. Santa work is seasonal, so I'm told.

Hi,

It is really sad that some people place negative reports ( BOB ) on these postings. Christmas may be seasonal to you, but Santa does in fact work all the year round.

Last years summer saw him in St. Lucia helping poor children in Vieuw Forte, of course, it would seem strange calling him by his real name in the summer so they call him "Papa John" for some reason (he may like pizza's perhaps).

This year he is helping deprived children in Stevenage, Dagenham, and Sheffield.

Such is his concern about the children in East Dulwich being disapointed, he is considering suggesting to the parents that he visits the children at home, he will in due course be emailing parents.

Do not forget that this is the real Santa that takes the time to answer all emails (via the parents/guardian) on Christmas day, and sends regular emails all thought the seasons.

If you need to contact Santa his email address is [email protected] please note that he will only reply via a adults email address.

Regards,

Libra Carr.

Off topic I know but I was very disappointed in Santa last year... he sent me an email, in response to my Christmas list promising my mansion and pony... :( I didn't get either and I was extra good and all!

hmmm back on topic... from points raised about over priced and limited choice of stock how are other similar establishments fairing? Are we likely to be losing more shops?

Its a shame about Booteeki:'( the shop was nice so was the people who owned it.. regarding Petals most weekends and at the end of the week it is busy.. well when i walk past, they have really nice things in there you just have to go in and look and they are very welcoming..some of the clothes you have to try on cause sometime the style looks odd but when you try on it is flattering i must say!.. so it would be a shame if they closed. we need some local clothes shops around not chain store where everyone wears the same things..everyone needs to start supporting and putting money into the community. :)-D

Hi,

I have spoken to Santa as the question puzzled me as well, evidently, he can tell by the way the email is written whether it is from a parent or a child (clever Eh). Each year when the parents are with their little one's in the grotto he gives the adult a code which must be shewn in the heading, otherwise a reply will not be forthcoming.

In the matter of the person wanting a mansion and a pony, Santa looked at this request and decided to channel monies saved on this greed into a project in St. Lucia. This made a lot of people happy instead of one selfish, spoilt.... The rest has been deleted to protect the image of Santa.

Kind regards,

Libra Carr.

Santa's bestest friend.

:-| Wot's the point of santa asking what you would like for christmas if she then decides for his own selfish reasons not to come up with the goods? He never asked what my intentions were with the Mansion or pony just assumed I wanted it for myself :( grrr norty Santa... yes this subject is quite dear to my heart! :(

I was out and about around ED earlier and I have to say out of observation... not many of the "pretty" shops were particularly busy... and thinking in it further I've never seen them busy... mayb im going at the wrong times

Eldest daughter got student loan and after 20 years managed to pay it off, Youngest daughter still paying hers 18 years later. Granddaughter - still paying after 6 years. Grandson decided against FE and secured an apprentenship. I am glad that I am an old codger and not young anymore !

    • It is not only Southwark - our grandson, partner and 7 year old had a one bed council flat for years in Harlow Essex and all the properties offered were in poor condition. They eventually took a property as if they refused another one they would drop to the bottom of the Housing List. It was damp and in need of a level of renovation. Having lived in these conditions for a while they were offered better council accommodation recently, but further away from child's school. They had to pay 2 lots of rent for a few weeks as council had to undertake work in the new premises before they could move in,
    • Just had an interior decorating job done by Andy. The final outcome looks lovely and he did some remedial work at the same time to fill in gaps in the ceiling (due to previous electrical work) and to remediate any similar areas to ensure a polished overall look. Would highly recommend him for any similar job, he quoted a very reasonable price for the job as well. Thanks Andy!
