Spangles30
it is just another friggin' pointless shop in Lordship Lane, esp if it really does sell such horrid shoes. There already are two shoe shops the area selling half reasonable shoes, do we really need another, particularly if it sells such vile artefacts - as has been alleged by Bob et al. Louisa
Spangles30, how dare you suggest that these overpriced small shops are pointless. If you want to live in ED you have to like it or lump it, remember, there are scary places like Bromley and Lewisham where you can actually buy more for less and have a greater variety so be thankful you are living in such a nice sophisticated area such as this. RosieH
not sure I'd call this den of monstrous shoes overpriced Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3326-davina-boutique-82-lordship-lane/page/2/#findComment-104422 Share on other sites

Amelie
Mr Franklin's told me on Saturday that the former tyre shop is going to be a farm shop selling local produce. Muttley
Yes, definitely not a rumour any more as I see the shop sign's gone up, Davina Boutique. Does that mean it's more than just shoes? I guess all will be revealed in the next day or two. Spangles30
LOL Louisa, but actually RosieH is quite right some of the shoes appear to retail for about ?40-50 which is not that expensive for shoes these days. Having said that though, the shoes in said shop are rather unappealing - in my opinion. Jeremy
It's overpriced if you're used to paying ?20 at Barratts/Shoe Express/etc. But generally it looks to be in the same price bracket as the existing shoe shop on LL.I'm surprised, it's not like Louisa to pass judgement without checking out the facts first! RosieH
actually I think I take back my earlier comment - while I don't consider these shoes expensive, I do think them overpriced - they're fugly in the extreme and I propose that even ?5 would be too muchwhat for, why, why, why they coming? dullwitch
Well, I for one am pleased there'll be a shoe shop opening. One can never have too many shoes.:)If you look at the website properly, they appear to have a good variety of nice shoes, aswell as the dodgy ones. Why don't we just give these places a chance, instead of beating them down before they've even opened? RosieH
you're quite right and I'm sorry, in a really foul mood this morning and took it out on the shoe boutique. had a look through the site before commenting and they're very much not my kind of shoes (not just the bad ones posted on here), but hey, horses for courses and allI'll keep shopping up west and wish them well with their venture Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3326-davina-boutique-82-lordship-lane/page/2/#findComment-104524 Share on other sites
BJL
I like some of them - especially the more unusual designs. Beats the drab, dull and boring White Stuff ("lovely clothes for lovely people", indeed). Sue
Some of us have taken to replacing the first letter of "White Stuff" with another (clue - it's a few places before the "W" in the alphabet).:)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3326-davina-boutique-82-lordship-lane/page/2/#findComment-104549 Share on other sites
Spangles30
LOL Sue, and yes couldn't agree more. The clothes shops are awful in the area, just vile. Shame we don't have any quirky, bohemian vintage shops - have to go different parts of London for any tasteful stuff clothes/house wise. SeanMacGabhann
does this make me look "vile" as I walk down the Lane these days? I really should take more care about how and who I offend....
