Oh, talk about short memories. I am looking at pics on my wall of:

my lovely grandad, in the ARP

my great uncle John, disappeared, D Day

my uncle John, killed Italy 1943?

my auntie Margaret, bombed to bits as a Queen Alexandra nurse in Belgium, but survived

Please don't ask me what D Day was. We is all ungrateful beastly little flibbertigibbets and our forgetingness will be our undoing.

Bob S,

I'm on a fishing trip as I don't know the answers.

I would have expected the ARP to have a "W" on their helmets, but there was some local improvisations before national standardisation.

They could be local volunteer ambulance drivers.

So, any help in identification is welcome.

I don't think that paint was rationed, but it was in short supply, as were paintbrushes, and for domestic use limited to a three-colour ultilty range: cream, green, and brown.

    • Hello everyone. I am currently doing research on Food Waste and Donations, And need your help & support. This short survey is part of a research project aimed at identifying opportunities that helps reduce food waste, increase food donations to food banks and soup kitchens, and support people facing food insecurity. Your responses will help Identify and understand everyday habits and attitudes towards food and food donation. This survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Your responses are completely anonymous and  will be used solely for research purposes I would greatly appreciate if you could take sometime to complete Thank you for taking the time to read my 1st ever post! • When someone calls their own views balanced they often mean they consider other peoples views unbalanced that may not be the case.
    • Hello, first of all apologies if this is not the right space. In short, I love going to Brockwell lido, it’s never been kept very tidy, but this year a limit has been reached. It’s ming: around the pool and in the changing rooms (one picture attached to give you the gist).   I have taken pictures, sent complaints to fusion and even wrote to local MP. Is anyone else having same experience? Is there anything more i can do? thanks in advance
