To the Silvester Road 4am Fly Tipper

This is a message to the idiot who walked down Silvester Road at 4.11am on Friday morning (20th Sept) carrying a mattress, only to dump it on the corner of Silvester/Crystal Palace Roads.

Just so you know, I have your selfish ass on camera.

Do you not know that you can phone Southwark Council and they will come and take your rubbish away from your house, for free? What a selfish twat you are to sneak around in the wee hours dumping your rubbish so that it is an eyesore for everyone else.

I suggest you might like to do the decent thing and come and remove your mattress and then dispose of it responsibly.

I am sorely tempted to post your photograph/video on here and other social media to show you up for the anti-social wanker you are.

This infuriates me to the point of explosion. Despite property price rises and the effort local people put into making their area attractive to outsiders, some selfish minded ignoramus types feel it's perfectly acceptable to go around littering large household items on our streets when it is so EASY to contact the council and get it removed FREE OF CHARGE. If I see anyone dumping rubbish I will instantly be reporting you to the number provided above and I will film you on my phone. BE WARNED. Well done giggirl.

Louise I'm with you totally on this, Southwark Council are one of the few Boroughs who will still collect large household items for free, there is no need to dump household waste in the streets.

Freddy & Louisa are both assuming that the fly-tippers are local to Southwark - sadly fly-tippers frequently cross boundaries - so they may have come from a borough without Southwark's social responsibility. We are not that far from Lewisham (or indeed Lambeth). In which case calling to ask the council to dispose may not have been an option for them.

The acceptance of so called Street Art has encouraged other less talented artists to do their bit

to brighten up the area. Lol. they are all at it.

In most areas people caught spraying graffiti are prosecuted. Not in good old E.D.

Here they are encouraged. Even rewarded.

Graffiti lowers the general tone of any area. People start to dump rubbish.

.. and where there is one little pile of garbage, it soon becomes a larger pile of garbage.

Don't see fly tipping in Dulwich Village.. Don't see Graffiti in Dulwich Village..

WHY.. Well they do not encourage Street Art..

People have brought it on themselves...

You now have to live with it.

Jonathan - I absolutely had no intention of suggesting it was right, merely that the remedy suggested by others (why didn't they get Southwark (or their own council) to take the stuff away?) may not have been open to them. Clearly placing your rubbish in someone else's territory, or in the street, isn't ever acceptable.

The large african woman who lives on silvester road is responsible for a lot of fly tipping she also steals wheelie bins to transport the items she tips I belive her name is Nanna she lives down the Barry rd end of silvester I know because I've seen her
