For those not on the Whats App group, just to say that there is a meet up this Wednesday (16 July) for dinner at The French House - 7/7.30pm - http://thefrenchhouse.co/index.html. There'll then probably be another meet up on Sunday 27 July - time and venue TBC.

Kate

Thanks for the update :-)

I would love to come along on Wednesday but having looked at the menu online nothing appeals which is a shame :-(

I may be able to do something on 27 July, if not then I am on maternity leave from the following weekend so hopefully I will be able to make the next evening get together.

I'll try to pop over. That will be near 4 weeks post-caesarian and I'm not sure if I'm ready to wear or push DS that far. We are me, husband and a son born 8th August. We live in Nunhead. Cheers, Jenne

Edit: darn, just realized it's already past four the month. Having a baby sure messes with your time keeping!

    • You've conflated a major incident with LTNs?  That's machavallian.  I'm impressed 😵‍💫 At the Finches fire last week there were a lot of emergency vehicles  Including the SPG.  But no cops with weapons (I used to work near where the SPG were stationed).  When there are major incidents police from other boroughs are called in with such vehicles.  I can't remember the name of the vehicles bringing cops in.
    • Another recommendation for Oddbods. As proof of our satisfaction we've asked them to return for some more jobs, which is sign we were happy with their work
    • Most of the groceries shops in Lordship Lane have a security presence…curious thing is I and another woman recently saw a shop lifter lift and not pay for a couple of packet of steaks, veg and bottle of wine..  Literally walked Pat the tills, one member of staff and security guard despite someone else going in front by a few people and mentioning person in question! I have to say, speechless and admired their bravado - I would not have the guts and knowing my luck, if I accidentally didn’t put something tru the till despite receipt would prob get stopped! Yes, worked with families, homeless and other people who were struggling for food so I do understand why they do it.. sad when you think about it, that in this day and age, all sorts of c people need assistance and help from community in general, food banks, olio etc….
    • Just not keen to have all these  things  in my body… having said  that, thinking about Covid again as need to come to London to two hospitals for poss overnight stays.
