Thinking of booking the Patch for Saturday night, but it's always looked a bit quiet when I've happened to pass it recently. Anyone been on a Saturday? Is it reasonably busy- don't want to be sat in an empty restaurant.

Went a couple of Saturdays ago with my wife & 4 friends. It was packed. That said, we won't be rushing back as the food was average at best, and we are spoilt with so many far better eateries in ED and the surrounding area.

Its usually full on Fridays and Saturdays.

My sister went with friends on a Saturday night and said it was packed and a really good atmosphere. Food was good too. Think the weekend trade is busy from what I hear.

Heaving when I went two Saturdays ago. You'll need to book. Contrary to what Jamesb experienced, we had a great meal.

7 of us, all neighbours, went for dinner last night, atmosphere was good, very buzzy and busy too, very attentive staff and fabulous food - all 7 of us enjoyed our meals. Fabulous having such a good restaurant in ED! It will become a regular restaurant for us. Best to book in advance though particularly Thursday to Sunday!

Was there for lunch with husband and kids. Food not cheap but surpassed expectations-delicious! You get what you pay for and the food was great quality. Place looks great and the staff can't do enough to help you (but get the balance right of not being annoying either). Go along and give them some support-they've done a great job with the place and deserve it.

I visited with my husband last week and was disappointed. We both liked our starters (we chose the same one) but really did not like the mains. The service was not great either. Such a shame.

I popped in for a quick drink on Saturday lunchtime. I thought it was very nice. Plenty of people and a good atmosphere. The fixed price menu looked competitively priced. I'll go back again and try the food.

Sunday lunch overpriced at ?16.50, considering it's not as good as The Crooked Well, The Palmerston or Franklin's, all of which are cheaper. Nice but too pricey.

I went there for the first time last night, just for a drink, and loved what they've done there. The restaurant was packed and the bar was buzzing. Impressive wine list, only old world wines though. Only gripe is that the only nuts they had were wasabi nuts which I hate! So get some peanuts please!!

Dinner last night at The Patch, four of us, absolutely excellent and very good value for some delicious food, -scrummy puds.
