Hi Everyone

I'm due with my second at the end of September (first will be approx 19 months - yikes). Are you all still meeting up? Do you still use the forum to communicate? I've noticed talk of a bumps list - is that how you chat now? Anyway, I'd love to come to your next meet up.

hopefully meet some of you soon

all the best in this crazy sticky weather

Jenny C

Hi Jenny,

There is a Facebook group for autumn bumps.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/633764043373883/events/

If you can't join it then let me know and I think I can invite you by email if you PM me your email address.

There hasn't been a meet up arranged for a couple of weeks, but there were some Saturday meets ups at 10am at the dulwich park cafe. Also Wednesday evenings at the Actress pub. I went a long to a couple of Saturdays though last one I went to was only 3 of us. So it would be great to get another one soon. I think I can set one up on the Facebook group for Wednesday evening next week - anyone else up for that?

Anna

The next Actress meet up is tomorrow night at the Actress (8pm) and the next Dulwich Park Cafe meet up is this Saturday at 10am. I haven't set these up on FB but Emailed round just over a week ago. I have organised meet ups so they happen every two weeks. Have already added Jenny to the FB group. the group is private so invites are by email only. There is also an email list which I add people to as some bumps are not on FB. x

Hello lovely ladies!

I am expecting our first baby at the end of September and would love to meet with other mommies!

Not a big FB user but if it's the only way you arrange the meet ups, will make an effort to log on :)

I will pm my details and hope to join you for a nice chat and 'a cuppa' soon :)

Julia

P.S. I live in Forest Hill, so if anyone lives 'round the corner of FH' - would be happy to meet more often x

Congratulations Sophie! I have added you to both FB group and E-mail list.

Next meet ups: this Wednesday evening (Actress) and Saturday morning (Dulwich Park Cafe)

Any new Autumn bumps - please send me a PM and I shall do the same (Please remember to include your E-mail address.)

Hi Can you add me to your email list, my baby is now nearly 5 months old, so a bit late joining you, but I think he's getting bored of just me ! My daughter is at school so morning or early afternoon meet ups are good for me :-)

Thanks

Millie

Hi MrsBP15 - congratulations! This thread is actually for Autumn 2014 babies, so we all have 5-6 month olds now! The administrator should start the Autumn 2015 bumps thread soon (I think it started around March/April last year) so I'd keep checking the forum. It's a really lovely idea and I've met some fab mums through this so do sign up once your bump thread is available. Best of luck with everything x

    • The current wave of xenophobia is due to powerful/influential people stirring up hatred.  It;'s what happened in the past, think 1930s Germany.  It seems to be even easier now as so many get their information from social media, whether it is right or wrong.  The media seeking so called balance will bring some nutter on, they don't then bring a nutter on to counteract that. They now seem to turn to Reform at the first opportunity. So your life is 'shite', let;s blame someone else.  Whilst sounding a bit like a Tory, taking some ownership/personal responsibility would be a start.  There are some situations where that may be more challenging, in deindustrialised 'left behind' wasteland we can't all get on our bikes and find work.  But I loathe how it is now popular to blame those of us from relatively modest backgrounds, like me, who did see education and knowledge as a way to self improve. Now we are seen by some as smug liberals......
    • Kwik Fit buggered up an A/C leak diagnosis for me (saying there wasn't one, when there was) and sold a regas. The vehicle had to be taken to an A/C specialist for condensor replacement and a further regas. Not impressed.
    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
    • @Sephiroth you made some interesting points on the economy, on the Lammy thread. Thought it worth broadening the discussion. Reeves (irrespective of her financial competence) clearly was too downbeat on things when Labour came into power. But could there have been more honesty on the liklihood of taxes going up (which they have done, and will do in any case due to the freezing of personal allowances).  It may have been a silly commitment not to do this, but were you damned if you do and damned if you don't?
