If National Rail is correct there aren't ANY direct trains to ED.

That's correct, as they're only operating out of four platforms for the rest of the day, the ED/PR trains are only operating to/from South Bermondsey.

Bar one train (1736 to West Croydon) you can travel to HOP and Forest Hill from London Bridge as normal during the evening peak or as I mentioned above, tickets are valid on the tube and Overground.

It is really handy of you sign up to tfl travel updates -they send you travel alerts about things like this in advance.

London Bridge National Rail station

From Friday 28 until Monday 31 March, there are changes to train services to and from London Bridge National Rail station while Network Rail carry out engineering works. There will be no Southern services to and from the station on Friday from approximately 10:00 until 11:30. There are also a number of timetable changes during the affected period. To plan your rail journey, please visit nationalrail.co.uk

Platform 12 and 13 will be closed from now on as the new 14 and 15 open at the far end of the station.

It's also worth nothing that the cross platform footbridge will be shortened again with access between 1-10. For 11, 14 and 15, you'll need to walk up to the gateline and back along 8 or 9-10 to access it.

What a shambles Friday was, they had people all week giving out leafelts stating the reduced service adn providing the only trains times on Friday afternoon then during the day cancelled the ones that they said were running !!!

Another problem this morning meant I got the bus in, does anyone know of this was related to the weekend works and will the trains be runinng tonight ? No updates on National Rail site since this morning.

They said it was due to signal problems....but that is almost certainly a hangover from the weekend. Monday morning after weekend works is often a nightmare.

Worth checking before you set off home tonight.

New platforms some way further up the station as well. Need to factor in a good 30 seconds more for the dash from the tube plaforms past that TM Lewin and the South African biltong shop.

Cancellations announced for tonight on Southern, but nothing on the ED routes yet (http://www.southernrailway.com/southern/news/important-travel-advice-london-bridge-this-evening/).

Decided to defer the trip in by an hour this morning to allow the mess to settle but still got caught waiting outside LB for 30 minutes. Going to give it a miss and head home via Denmark Hill on the Thameslink and bus it to ED from there instead.

    • It’s irrelevant to compare Corbyns vote to Starmers. They were two different elections with two different turnouts.   The only relevant comparisons for Corbyn are how many people voted for Theresa May and Boris Johnson. A lot more in both instances. As such there would be nothing fair about him winning.
    • It is not Labour Party members who elect Labour governments, as it certainly isn't Conservative Party members who elect Conservative ones. It is all those who are not party members who actually make up the sufficient numbers to elect governments.
    • Thanks for these responses. Yes, Cllr Browning & Cllr Hartley did a door-knocking exercise a couple of months ago. It was Maggie Browning who knocked and I told her that I'd had radio silence from Jon Hartley. She looked embarrassed but not surprised. I have spoken to him since, only after writting to Ellie Reeves, our MP about it his lack of response. He agreed to address the issue I asked about but I've not heard from him since. It's really not acceptable for an elected Councillor to consistently ignore his ward constituents. Since it's clearly not a one-off, I'm gonna pick this up formally. I'll let you know how I get on...
    • If memory serves, Labour under Corbyn got more electoral  votes than Labour under Starmer. So I'm not sure how you can call that being "unelectable"? Under a different and fairer electoral system Labour would have won. I see moves are afoot to bring in such a different, fairer system, presumably in the hopes of stopping Reform winning next time. BTW there was a mass exodus from Labour  by  the local (East Dulwich) Labour party members when Corbyn was kicked out by Starmer. It isn't just Islington who doesn't want to support  a right or centre right Labour party.
