In the guardian today, the photographer Richard Chambury had the following photo published but what me chuckle was the description where he said the two ladies look like rap stars on an album cover - and every time I look it it I just think how true that is

Today's description in the Daily Mail of the Garden Party this Tuesday gone - Apparently the Queen left to the band playing "that's entertainment", Camilla was wearing a pale green outfit, and the Queen apparently had a quick bite of a cucumber sarnie.

Makes me wonder if the writer was actually there as I distinctly remember it was a selection of James Bond music, it was a gold/cream/browny kind of outfit and if the cucumber sarnies were the same as I had sampled then clearly the Queen is missing a few taste buds.

Hehehehe!

I was indeed at the Garden Party. It was a very enjoyable afternoon (even though it was wet for most of it). The Queen, who is much slimmer than the image you see on the telly, was actually smiling in a relaxed manner. The Duke being his usual cheeky self. Charles was instructing people on the best way to queue in the tea tent "simply run over there before anyone else catches on" and Camilla being her usual self on insisting to speak to as many people as possible and frustrating her escort by holding everything up. No I didnt speak to any of them (I'm still working on "those" circles) ;-)

The was really quite delightful - I can never understand why people complain the portions are so small as there's no limit as to how much or how frequent one piles onto the plate (from what I could figure out anyway).

To the ridiculously dressed small balding man - you think us women had silly hats? Quite clearly you've NEVER looked in a mirror! :))

Whether or not you're into the royals and all that it is still an exciting event and something not to be turned down if given the opportunity.

    • We both own the freehold. They’re in the maisonette and I’m in the flat. They’re older, so with any luck, they’ll be selling soon. Unfortunately, due to recent events, all of this now has to be disclosed on the TA6 form. Honestly, I’d move out of sheer shame if I were them. Poisoning fruit trees planted for children is just cruel, and they haven’t even apologised. I genuinely wonder how they justify this to themselves. Envy is such a toxic and destructive emotion, and sadly, it often explains behaviour like this. I just wanted to say how grateful I am for the support from so many of you, especially at the East Dulwich Forum drinks and for the kind messages on both this forum and the Nextdoor app. It’s genuinely reassuring to know there are still decent, supportive neighbours around.
    • Hmm, you seem to have an agenda.  I like ait of measured that they have done to promote active travel, improving pedestrian and cyclist safety, whilst improving the streetscape. I avoid making sweeping statements about wildlife management as I don't know enough about their policies, and expect some in Southwark are passionate about what they do. Go along to a relevant local meeting and ask, I doubt if you will change a thing by posting here.
    • It wouldn't surprise me at all.   The council used to spray the pavements all the time b4 lockdown.  They are probably doing it again.
