Does anyone remember those Stone Age days when you couldn't just find any clip or song you wanted and instantly post it to your acquaintance? How DID we cope?

Moos wrote the above after posting a link to THIS.. From that film, I actually like This One.

Anyway, thought I'd start a new thread for people to post favourite scenes, be they funny, romantic, scary, whatever.

Blimey Jah. On the assumption you didn't look that up like I just had to, that's some encyclopedic knowledge. Mr Devorzon did most of the instrumental tracks by the looks of things.

I suppose I should post this as well, given it's one of the few songs I can recite off by heart from one of my favourite movies:

The Big Lebowski - Just Dropped In...

Although, tbh, I could just post every scene from the film.

Wow.

Cultural admission time - I've never seen that. Just read the wiki entry though and can't believe it's not appeared on my radar. Powerful stuff. War films are always a bugger for making me cry. But this, from a popular tv show had the same effect:

ER Season 8 Episode 21

God, I'm such a woman!

For pure mouth open staring in disbelief: look here... admittedly makes bugger all sense if you haven't seen the rest of the film.

For everything else, i've just spent ages flicking thru clips from my favourite film of all time and i can't decide on a best clip. too many.

This? So if anyone hasn't seen Shawshank, do so. save me agonising!

    • The MFI was probably where Iceland is now. This post makes me feel very old - went to a 30th birthday party in the garden at the back. Oh to be 30 again!
    • Anyone upgraded their TV for Christmas?! I'm looking for a smallish Smart TV I can use with earbuds. Not more than 56cm high and  25cm deep. A 26" one used to fit.  Thanks!
    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
