Funny thing is he doesn't have that 'boxers physique', a bit like Calzaghe, looks like a regular guy wearing shorts.

I reiterate I'm not saying he'll change the history of boxing but I like to watch him.

I watch the Marco Huck v Denis Lebedev Cruiser contest recently (it actually took place about year ago I think), what daylight robbery, Huck acted like it was obviously his decision when it was announced. In the press conference Lebedev and team were sick. I think Lebedev stitched Macarinelli, that's how I know about him.

Knowing Vlad / the Klistchkos, Chisora was always a fight that held little meaning and it was almost ditched before, IMO it has been an 'option' to use or discard depending on what else could be lined-up elsewhere.

Last time the fight was in jeopardy, Chisora said he would not 'allow' Vlad to by-pass him. My hunch is that if Haye is now on the cards, Vlad wants to make sure he is absolutely ready.

Wasn't too interested in Hatton, never really seen too much impressive in him but George Groves won his contest which means next for him is James DeGale, which will be a nice domestic bout.

Also, Khan has said that he's pencilled in a date for Timothy Bradley on I think July 23rd, this is interesting given that Khan has yet to meet unbeaten McKloskey (the European LWW champ) in the UK, beforehand. Bradley beat Junior Witter and is also unbeaten. If Khan beats Bradley, he'll (in theory, at least) tie-up the LWW division and be recognised the ruler there. He next plans to go up to full WW and attempt to dominate there. I'm all for moving-up a weight division but I don't thnk anyone 'rules' a weight class until they've seen off a few solid contenders, ie. Devon Alexander and Maidana (or someone equally good) again, followed by Prescott (who needs to first resurrect his standing in the division).

Looks like Robert Helenius, who I'd mentioned earlier, is soon facing Samuel Peter who has fought (and lost to) both Klitschkos. He dropped Vladimir 3 times in 2005 before losing on points. Samuel was WBC Heavyweight champion until losing to Vitali. This may answer the 'who has he fought ?' question.

Peter is a deadly puncher too so could be a barnstormer. Bout is April 12th.

It would seem that Helenius defeated Samuel Peter without too much trouble... moving up the rankings nicely in the process.

Meanwhile, Amir Khan has failed to get a TV deal for the McCloskey fight. I guess Sky didn't want to do a PPV, as on paper it's a mismatch, and they didn't want another Haye/Audley fiasco.

I think the Khan fight is on Primetime Internet PPV for anyone who hadn't got Sky access.

Helenius has a long way to go, there's so little talent at HW that any promise is regarded as next best thing.

He hits hard but is hittable, needs defence working on, can't rely on long arms.

Slightly shocked at the way the Khan fight was stopped, there was a cut (from head clash) to McKloskey, there was blood dripping into his eye, but the corner never got a chance to work on it. The doctor saw the cut and stopped the contest immediately. Not a shocking cut though. Given the fact that there are some real magician cut men and McKloskey was not hurt and was still very much in the fight, it's a disappointing end to the contest.

McKloskey is fuming, fans are fuming, Khan will never offer a re-match. Unfinished business IMO.

BTW I'd like to see Robert Helenius to face Tyson Fury.

interesting comment, he never turned his back on his opponent, was making Khan miss and was by the look of things trying to slow Khan down by tiring him. I heard a report that he said to the Doctor he didn't want to continue, but that doesn't fit his outrage when the fight was stopped by the ref !

SCSB79 - How do you think McKloskey appeared to NOT want to continue ?!

Heavyweight Boxing needs Haye/Klitschko. Let's hope there are no more incidents or mysterious injuries!

On the strength of the Samual Peter fight, I think it's reasonable to assume that it would end very badly for Fury...

Who thought Groves would/could beat Degale? As domestic-level fights go, that was a cracker.

Congrats to Hopkins - incredible acheivement to win the title at the age of 46. He's not the most exciting fighter around, but he's certainly crafty and very effective. Pascal was very gracious in defeat.

    • A detailed account of Nigel Farage's alleged racist and neofascist behaviour while he attended Dulwich College appears in the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/ng-interactive/2025/nov/18/deeply-shocking-nigel-farage-faces-fresh-claims-of-racism-and-antisemitism-at-school Obviously for most the relevant question is if these allegations are true, then is Farage a suitable person for public office? But for Dulwich local yokels (and tbh anyone that's already formed a firm opinion about Farage), the more interesting question might be whether Dulwich College incubated and tolerated pupils' racist and bigoted behaviour at the time? After all, the allegations include that NF and a number of other boys sang songs about gassing Jews and engaged in other bigoted behaviour, that teachers were either present or aware of that behaviour, and that nothing was done. It's remarkable that pieces of the reporting abour 40 years ago mirror some of the allegations about Dulwich College's reaction to some pupils' alleged sexist and predatory behaviour 4 years ago. Minimisation, dismissal, wilful blindness... https://www.thetimes.com/uk/crime/article/i-warned-head-of-dulwich-college-about-abusive-boys-five-years-ago-xkxgjftk8 https://www.theguardian.com/education/2021/mar/26/dulwich-college-head-warns-pupils-over-culture-protest
    • Hi, we've got a random cat at tonight's game. Anyone own it?
    • Saied (Dulwich Eco Gardening) said he’d give us our garden back and he did. He cleared the overgrown front and back. It was bigger than we remember.    He doesn’t do hard landscaping on the scale we needed but recommended someone (Kris 07938 204480). He flagged and fenced it.    Once we decide what plants/pots we want we’ll have Saied back to do that. Can’t wait for next spring to use the garden.
    • I've got an enormous red bean bag you can have which has been thoroughly pounded over the years but was a recommendation from Sensory Smart Child so might be of use to you.
