*Bob*
Btw, that's unfair, Mockney. The Harry Potter books are a super story, well-written and charming - a good read for anyone of any age and responsible for helping many an adult re-acquire the reading bug!If anyone has enjoyed Harry Potter, I can thoroughly recommend any of the following:The Magic Faraway Tree, by Enid BlytonPoppy Cat Loves Rainbows, by Lara JonesWhere's Spot, by Eric Hill Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4770-awful-awful-awful-books/#findComment-154056 Share on other sites

Keef
Piers, you like playing video games, some, not me, would call that childish. What is so bad about grown ups reading kids books? I reread the chronicals of narnia last year and quite enjoyed it. By the way, agree about da vinci code, but quite liked Angels and Demons. It is utterly devoid of merit. It's still on my bookshelf and every time I glance at it I feel slightly embarrassed. mockney piers
Mwah hah hah, spot the Harry Potter readers. Sooo predictable.Tried the first one, juuuuuust to see if I was missing out on something, and I really wasn't.Have also revisited the Narnia books Keef, and found that without the glow of nostalgia, they're really not a very satisfying read. (I'm even beginning to think Star Wars is a bit shit)Bah Humbug!!I of course except Winnie the Pooh books from this general rule.....and comics rock. Jah Lush
Nah...that's Harry Potter and the Wankers Of Doom.By the way I've just been into a newsagents and spotted a magazine called Intelligent Life with Paris Hilton on the cover apparently reading Leo Tolstoy's War And Peace. Surely something wrong there.Paris Hilton/Intelligent Life - is an oxymoron.Edit: Not to be confused with the Winkers Of Doom a biography of Christiano Ronaldo.
