So a quick walk to the shop turns into a blazing argument over pavement space. Not only am I fighting off bloody cyclists on the pavement and cars mounting kerbs, I now find myself flying at a couple for holding hands on the street. Why? Why would you do it? You saw me coming a good 20ft away at LEAST! If you're anyone walking on the street be kind enough to move over when you see someone coming towards you please. And there was no need to call me what you did, I wasn't just making a fuss I was genuinely p/$$ed off! I'm prepared to apologise for the choice words I used regarding your size, it wasn't fair and I do hope you read this. Just think next time. Thanks.

Baggs, I'm more than happy to hold hands with you or anyone else. It's not the holding hands I have the issue with here, it's the pavement hogging that's the problem.

gge12 what on earth are you going on about? I did say something at the time, have you not read above? And the second part of your post is lost on me, no idea what you're getting at.

Interestingly, both gge12 and robbin are more recent members of the forum, and welcome to you both. Coincidence perhaps? I am not prepared to stoop to the back of the sofa to pull out a handful of one and two pence pieces covered in hairs thanks all the same, but nice try.

No Dopamine1979 it is not. I am constantly frustrated by poor pavement etiquette, however on this occasion I think I may have over stepped the mark hence my apology above, I do hope they read this forum and this thread. It was a poor decision on their part to not move over but my reaction was not sufficient and for once I hold my hands up.

I had someting like this happen to me a while back in St. Francis Road. There was a chap coming towards me with a pushchair. As you may appreciate, the road is tree lined and cars are parked all the way along it. It was obvious we were about to "meet" at a narrow point with a tree. I acknowledged him with a smile, moved to the side of the pavement and indicated that he could come through. His phone rang and he stopped and answered it and began to hold a conversation. "Excuse me, can I come past" I enquired, at which point he launched into a tirade of abuse and swearing, accusing me of being rude and teeling me I should have better manners. Remarkable.

    • Another happy customer. Would recommend Lucasz. Good quality work and reasonable rate

    • Walking around, it looks to me as if weedkiller has been used, as some weeds have been left in situ but are dead. However, most of the weeds which have been (apparently)  killed in this way are hardly likely to lift pavements, being things like Shepherd's Purse. They might seed around, but I'm not sure what harm that does. I would like to know exactly what is the remit of the council workers who are tasked with dealing with weeds in pavements (and in tree pits?). Things like dandelions which have taproots (but are hard to remove in one piece)  have been left in the pavement,  whereas things like Toadflax (which don't, and are easy to just pull out) have been removed.
