Roofer & guttering repair recommendation

Pickle

Recommended Posts

We have just had some long overdue work done on our house, replacing and repairing faulty guttering & fascia boards, fitting drip trays and moss removal and rendering of our parapet walls at the top of the house.

The company we dealt with were professional, efficient, and managed to fit us in very quickly, so I thought I would share their details as can't find mention of them on the forum.

For the first time in a year I don't mind if it rains...

Thanks Pickle, we're looking for both roofers and renderers at the moment and its not easy getting people around to quote. Do you happen to know anyone decent who would undertake interior work(bathroom, kitchen etc?). Kind regards and hope the family are well, Mike.
Pickle thank you for the recommendation - I had David and Patrick round to unblock my hopper and re-align some drains. They came to my home within an hour of my call and completed the job professionally. They are both lovely guys and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them

Another glowing report for a top roofer!

David Donnell and his nephew Patrick from Norwood Roofing Specialists.

The most competent, professional and friendly gentlemen.

Came to assess my roof on the day I called. Fitted me in within a week.

Repointed party wall, reconnected guttering, added drip trays, refixed fascia boards and repaired flashing.

All in a morning.

I know they have had several mentions on this forum but credit where credit's due..I can't recommend them highly enough.

I would like to add to these recommendations for David O'Connell of Norwood Roofing Specialists. They have done three roofing repairs for me now: 2 chimney stacks and replacing some tiles. David was very efficient at answering enquiries, arranging appointments and getting quotes back. David, Patrick and Alec sorted the scaffolding and did the work quickly and cleanly. I'm particularly pleased with the work on one chimney stack as two other roofers have tried to solve this for me before, to no avail. A very professional and courteous team.

Having had no success with previous botchy-type repairs on my long leaking chimney in my house on overhill rd, I contacted Dave and his team who were extremely professional in all my dealings. Dave is very reliable and he phones to confirm appointments. He and his team are all friendly and pleasant to deal with, and they do a thorough job that they record photographically. I would highly recommend David O'Connell , [email protected]

I would like to also recommend David O'Donnell for roofing works. I got David's name from this forum and urgently needed repairs carried out on a bay roof in Peckham Rye. I phoned him and left a message and he called straight back. He came out to see the roof and called me immediately with recommendations. As I wasn't able to be around, he took photos of the repairs that he made which includes some brickwork repointing. I feel entirely confident in his work.

I would also like to recommend David - he and his team did a brilliant job with repairing our roof. He responded straight away to my query (which was in December and a particularly busy time) and arranged to come round. He reviewed the work and came back immediately with a great quote and a proposed date for the work. The team arrived promptly on the day and completed the work the same day. No hesitation in recommendation David, he's also a lovely, personal guy and completely trustworthy. In fact, we've just used him again for another job today!

I'm also adding another review/recommendation for David at Norwood Roofing Specialists.

I rang this morning with an emergency as a chimney pot came down in last night's heavy winds, taking several chunks out of our extension roof and leaving various pieces of vicious bits of tiling and pottery hanging precariously. David said he'd be there within the hour, which he was and he had everything secured and fixed the same day, all in very high winds and 3 stories up. He was polite, tidy and very efficient and one of the best workmen we've ever had work for us. He also checked over the rest of our roof for us and supplied photos of the work before and after. I highly recommend him.

I wanted to resurrect my thread.

Was chatting to David and Patrick this morning (they were doing some repair work to my neighbours house). Mentioned a tile had slipped off our roof, and 20 minutes later they had been in and fixed it for me. The guttering work they did for us last year has been 100% fault free.

Really nice guys, we have other bits and pieces needing done and I'll have no hesitation in getting them back to do more work for us.

I'd like to add my recommendation to all those on here. After seeing David recommended on here so many times I called him out to fix a leaky chimney and a leaky bay roof. He replied very quickly, and came out within days to fix the problems. He and his team are very thorough and tidy. We'll definitely be using him again.

I'd also like to add my recommendation of David. I took his contact from the forum, sent an email to him which he responded quickly to and attended the next day to survey the job, quoted and carried out the job within a week. I highly recommend him to the forum members.

Adding a recommendation for David at Norwood Roofing. I found his details on EDF and called him to discuss a leak in our roof. David came with his colleague Patrick the next day, quoted on the spot and they were back the following morning to do the repairs (it was due to rain on Friday, so it was good that they could come that quickly!). They explained what needed to be done and showed me pictures. The work also came with a 10 year guarantee, which is very reassuring. I found David to be very responsive and professional - which is unfortunately very rare with builders in this day and age.

Norwood Roofing specialists, another great job well done!!

If anyone reading this is looking for a professional roofing company, look no further.

From start to finish...came out to inspect the roof on the day I called, took photos of every issue and went through all the work required. Set up a date within a week. Turned up on time, worked tidily, took photos of their completed work which, to me a non-roofer, looked like a work of art!

David and Patrick could not be a nicer, more hard-working pair. This is the third time they have worked on our roof and I am more then happy to recommend them.

Jacqui.

I contacted David as a number of roofing/guttering issues had been identified when I purchased my house in Honor Oak Park. He was able to visit the property and provide a quote within a couple of days and the work was scheduled for 10 days later. His small team arrived on time (7.45am!), were polite, worked hard and appear to have done a good job of repointing the bonnet tiles, re-felting/flashing the garage flat roof and some other small bits and pieces. Thanks guys!
Also used David and team after reading recommendation on here. Came round very quickly to quote, arrived exactly when he said, worked quickly and efficiently and it looks - as far as I can tell - like a great job and everything we agreed. Really impressive service and communication. Would highly recommend him and in fact already have to next door neighbour.

    • Helen and Steve did an incredible job transforming our garden (erecting a new fence, building decking, laying a new lawn and planting). Helen is very thoughtful and helped to prepare a detailed plan ahead of the work starting aligned to what we wanted and within our budget. The team worked quickly and efficiently and were incredibly polite and professional throughout. Everything was carried out to such a high standard and I couldn’t be happier with the result - we have got so much enjoyment from the garden since then. Highly recommend!
    • Silly question, but have you reported this elsewhere as well as on here? Eg passport office, banks (if there are bank cards), police? Because if someone is carrying around their passport (assuming it's theirs) they must be pretty devastated if they have lost it, and it's fairly unlikely they will see this post, though fingers crossed.
    • * Big, sick & tired sigh * Ok, so here is this year's small selection of Gala litter that has been left behind. I have to emphasise, it is only a small part of what is still there, collected on Tuesday from a relatively small area in the south of the ex-site. I also have to emphasise this only took about an hour of slow wandering, using only my eyes & hands - no specialist equipment, and I'm not a paid employee of a specialist waste management company. And to confirm, this is after "The site was checked at the end of GALA’s tenancy and found to be clear of event-related litter" by the Council / Parks Dept. There's 488 items there, many of which would be potentially hazardous to children, pets & wildlife. Not least the small bag in the bottom left corner, still containing a suspicious white substance. I'm hoping to pass this on to the police for testing, ensuring it is recorded for the purposes of next year's licence consideration.  Please - before anyone posts any comments defending this, denying it is festival related, insulting me, whatever - just go and have a close look yourself, particularly where the tents, stages & toilets were sited. It's obviously from the festival, and there's still loads of it there, all over our park. It is literally being trashed, year after year, despite repeated assurances from the organisers.  I'm sick of it, it's just so depressing.
