EDF Drinks - tonight Friday 6th February - Black Cherry

Recommended Posts

Thank you Georgia. Blinding evening (literally), excellent collection of forumites and possibly the best venue so far IMO. I don't know you Angela but, if you're reading this you should be very proud of such a fine establishment. Cheers.

just put two and two together... got my go slow w/e brain on, so it was that Georgia (first person I met with Jenny at my first EDF drinks...) who fixed it, got it now!!!

brilliant, good choice of venue, lovely evening, thanks for organising it

So I want to know (as I couldn't be there yet again)

Did anyone "Get Karter" (or did he get anyone) ?

Did any Ladies join the "Miles and More" Harem ?

Was Chuff "Chuffed" with the evening ?

Did Woofmarkthedog turn up to bark at people (I have a nagging feeling that he/she is barking mad you know)

and finally is anyone red faced with shame ?

Maybe next time I will have to make the effort and come along

I was chuffed LuvPeckham and I managed to bundle Miles into a corner but he escaped. I also did 'get Karter', I went to knock for him on the way to see if he wanted to come out to play.

No shame for me and I cured my shyness, everybody was lovely

bet there was for some though?

Hey Luv, the campaign against Miles at the Cherry had fallen at its knees. He is too good, too slippery. He wins. Next time though you will be coming along to the drinks, we will be knocking at your front door too . Look out for that 'knock'.;-)

I ain't done nuffin if anyone nocks, if its the rozzers hide the shooters up the back passage and deny everyfing call my lawyer and tell 'im to get dawwn to peckham nick before me like

However if it is opportunity knocking then that is entirely a different kettle of fish and of course I am in to entertain such a lovely caller "more tea Mr. McVicar ?"

PS Karter - don't worry I have plans for our Mr. Miles and it may well involve the supporting structure for the new Elephant and Castle development... however may just take a few years yet to implement....

I think the camera was set to Zoom in Chuff, so pretty close. I would say from top of forehead to chin give or take an inch. I didn't take loads though as big Andrew accosted me after 5mins and took it back..

Has that left you worried? Sure you probably look great..

I wasn't there. So none of me either.

It's bad enough with the paparazzi permanantly parked outside my house and having to avoid their camera flashes but whenever I go to an EDF piss-up there's Andrew with his zoom lense. Click click click! Flash, flash!. "No pictures please, ask my agent."

    • For every person like OP that moans their doorbell was rung and there was a knock on the door, there's someone else moaning that they didn't hear the delivery drivers. If you've ever done delivery work you'll know that loads of people's bells don't work. The delivery drivers probably goes to a hundred doors a day: press bell, knock door, drop package, move on. If you don't like delivery drivers, insist on delivery by Royal Mail where the workers have wages and a union - or just stop ordering shit online that's artificially cheap. But most of us (me included) don't want that
    • If someone comes to my house and bangs my door and slams my gate, I'd speak to them about it nicely and ask if they would please not do that. And then subsequently less nicely if they keep doing it, ending in reporting them.  We don't slam doors at home and I don't put up with that either. I can see us moving to a culture where we bribe drivers to be nice by tipping them, but we shouldn't have to. It's not necessary - does not matter if they are on minimum wage or not, or if society means that delivery services are outsourced or whatever reason anyone would like to concoct.
    • We’ve got a gap on the roof of our shed that needs patching  don’t want to buy a huge roll so hoping someone has some leftover  happy to collect/reimburse
    • I never said I thought it was targeted or deliberate. There also has never been a “stand off” or confrontation, we’ve spoken to them in a friendly manner about it. Our experience is they don’t seem to care. That’s the frustrating thing for us, if someone politely raises a concern at least take a second to reflect. Treat others how you would want to be treated.  I don’t want them to lose their job, far from it. But considering it could cost me a days work to fix any damage, I’m within my right to try prevent it.
