great news. Will certainly pop in to see if any changes happened.

Just been to white horse - they have a pool table and darts and a pint of cider and an ale came to ?7.35! Nice people too.

Unfortunately no tv so we've gone to the Rye to watch the rugby - same round cost ?10.45 and all the tables in front have been reserved which is a shame but I can understand why they have done it

Will be back to the white horse when the rugby is done

Does seem strange having a caf? next door to a chippy.

Presumably different operating times.. If its a real caf?.. early mornings and lunch time.

if it's going to be another mummy/baby club then late morning afternoon..

Chippy mostly busy around 5.00-7.00pm

Yeah we popped in and bought some bits, and had a chat. It is predominantly a wholesaler, but open to the public on Saturdays in partnership with "The Charcuterie Board" -

They've got a few tables and chairs set up, and are planning on doing coffee, wine, beer etc too soon.

Yes tried it the other day, food was good as were the cocktails. Only problem was, it was very cold inside the restaurant. Admittedly it was a very cold evening however, I wouldn't expect to have to wear a coat while eating. Hopefully they'll address this before winter really sets in...

Not East Dulwich or Peckham but I know but a lot of us use Dulwich Village and the Village will soon have an Oyster bar/deli. Looks like the guy who used to run (own?) Poissonnerie de l'avenue in Sloane Street has taken the lease of the old deli next to the dry cleaners. The dry cleaners was, when I was a kid, a fishmongers so what comes around goes around?? They seem to be spending some money on the place and at last we might have somewhere decent to eat in the Village.

    • On the nostalgia side, I don't think anything can replace the clatter of the metal crates and the whirr of the milk float making its short hops. • I highly recommend anyone wanting to learn manual driving to use Nicholas Driving academy, great instructor who makes things easy to learn while being calm and fun reducing stress. Highly recommend!
    • I view this as a bit of unnecessary political point scoring. I mean, it's not as if she has more important things on her mind. She should get a rap on the knuckles but resignation? I don't think so. Quite how the Tories have the temerity to point fingers after the shambles and outright corruption that took place over Covid, I really don't know.
    • I did check that Tesco were the applicants on at least one of the 7 May forms.  I would be interested to know what Monica has seen.  Possibly some other formal annnouncement somewhere, or the LL traders' grapevine (which I'd guess is generally reliable)?  I wondered if it might have been a licensing matter, but don't see any mention in the licensing sub-committee's 16 October meeting agenda. In the meantime, I'm not even assuming that Tesco are taking the lease.
