When it's all wilted down like that you can generally get it over with in just one or two mouthfuls.

That is why it goes well with hot chorizo on a roll, or with pasta.

With kale you need to remove the center rib, and chop. It's good in veg soup, or in the Portuguese caldo verde.

I'd rather sit in a vat of acid while gnawing my limbs off.

When I lived by myself I quite often cooked a chicken roast for 1 as it worked out quite cheap.

I'd do the meal, then make a chicken salad or sandwiches with the leftovers the next day, then I'd boil the bones up to make a stock and throw in leeks and some potatoes to make a soup. For about ?8 you'll get about 4 meals.

If I do a roast midweek I'll make 2 dinners exactly the same, wrap the 2nd plate in cling film & put it in the fridge to re-heat the next day in the microwave.

It tastes just as good & there's no cooking to do & only a plate to wash up!

I've always liked the English bits on a Chinese menu, specially "Eat-In" ones

My pal Deano, never eats the Chinese food bit on the menu 'No mate, they do a pukka chicken/steak and chips tho'

    • The Government has set an ambitios target to build 1.5 million new homes bu the end of this 4 year term. Possibly unachievable due to various issues in the building industry but ambitious none the less.  What they seem to have failed to plan for, which was brought home by this year's drought, is adding more inferstructure including Reservoirs, power lines and sewerage treatment centres.  Ate they setting us up for more problems in the future?
    • If you know the layout of the Chequers estate, it is clearly unfeasible and logistically complex to project images onto the facade of the main building. Unless you are the military or something.
