On what occasion did Hughes and Ince physically confront supporters?, I can't recall any, though I seem to remember Liverpool's Jamie Carragher getting sent off, a police warning and ?40k fine from his club for throwing a coin back into the crowd at Arsenal...didn't that 'thug' Ince once play and captain Liverpool, or was that before your time as well?...

Mark Hughes got to grips with a Swindon Town fan who was in the front row of the stand. Eric Cantona did his cowardly kung-fu impression on a guy at Crystal Palace. As for Ince he also charged into the crowd at Selhurst Park.

Yes Jamie Carragher was also a muppet throwing a coin into the crowd at Highbury, just like Drogba recently, it is totally unacceptable.

Eric Cantona's kick was stupid, but not sure I'd use the word cowardly. If never should have risen to it, but as he walked off the guy he kicked was leaning right over the barrier giving him proper verbal! Much as I love football, footballers in general are a simple breed, and a lot of them are complete knobs, who just happen to be very good at a game.

Has anyone been watching the "Time of Our Lives" series on Sky Sports? Each week Jeff Sterling has 3 players belonging to a clubs golden era around the coffee table and they reminisce from back in the day. If you like anecdotes, such as Jack Charlton's black book, Tony Adams making Ray Parlour into a drinker, then set your Sky+ to 10pm every Monday night!

The one tonight was the 1970 Everton Championship winning team, and they were saying Shankly's back garden used to back onto Everton's training ground (which is where I guess the famous line from Shankly came of he'd drawn his curtains if Everton were playing at the bottom of his garden :) They said each Sunday (on Everton's day off), Shankly would take his dog for a walk around the Everton training ground so his dog could have a piss ;-)

Next week they have Nottingham Forest from their European Cup era.

A great night at the Emirates and wonderful to see Eduardo back on form - hope he can replace Adebayor in future! All the way now to the semis with our home ties - fingers crossed!

What can you say about Eduardo? Wonderful performance after nearly a year out following a horrendous injury. You've got to love his positive approach and hunger for the game, as well as giving credit to the backroom staff who helped on his road to recovery. It's almost like signing a new player.

    • I'd get rid of duty free shopping.  Nothing to do with tourist tax but something I hate.  All that glitz as you try to get through to Wetherspoons in the departure lounge.  No great savings over on line or even at times supermarkets, and the hypocrisy of selling cheap cancer sticks. Ok back to tourist tax
    • If anyone is thinking of traveling a bit more and would like to supplement their trip by picking up a few family heirlooms from various ailing maiden aunts of mine, please drop me a private message. I'm particularly interested in anyone who is considering Colombia & Bolivia, The Golden Triangle region of South East Asia, Andalusia & North Africa or Rotterdam. And Liverpool.
    • Wow I had no idea they give you 5% in perfume for your accommodation. You're right, I need to travel more.
    • Do none of you go abroad.  Tourist taxes are really common in continental Europe and do vary a lot city by city. They are collected by the hotels/rental apartments. They are usually a  tiny part of your holiday costs.  In Narbonne recently we paid €1.30 per person per night.  The next town we went to charge 80 cents per person per night. By comparison Cologne is 5% of your accomodation.
