Newcastle were not good enough to stay up.Truly shiocking. No one is "toon" big to go down. There are good points though, that parasite cod scouse, horse enthusiast and all round turd Owen will be off to peddle his injuries elsewhere. The rest of the wasters can escape to wherever they really wanted to go in the first place before bring sold the dream of easy money by cheeky impish Blue peter garden vandal & chelsea apologist shitbag Dennis Wise.

Plastic scousers will be galvanised into an orgy of mutual backslappery as they recall the Owen golded years. Red shite indeed.

No Doubt the Guardian Sports team will be smirking & touching themsleves inappropriatley as they slave over a hot Mac in their Islington homes , working on the rather unoriginal premise of " where did is all go wrong? " for tomorrows bog role editon leader.reactionary smug fuckpigs

New season/ new start.

Went to the Arsenal yesterday and Stoke were the wosrt team I've watched all season, no craft, no guile, no skill. Delap had one throw all day and without that they are shit. I sincerely hope with all of my being they are relegated next season and West Brom and Toon come back up, and least they try and play the game the way it should be played.
Bad luck Sheffield United (tries to keep a straight face), two very dodgy penalty decisions to moan about, make excuses from and deflect from your general crapness, sue the referee for even more money you don't deserve northern monkeys.....well done to the claret & blue northern monkeys however......this weekend - Millwall, Newcastle and now Sheffield United ...THANK YOU GOD

Charming....

And you forgot the most unjust red card.....I had a better view of that "offence" than the referee - who totally justified Blackwell's pre-match criticisms of his selection - and it was no sending-off offence.

Anyway well done Burnley....it was a fine goal.

....and it's really charming to spend over 2 years continually dragging a decent football teams' name through the sewer on a technichality....sorry Simon, I absolutely detest your team and am genuien;y laughing over you stuck in the Championshp again. Sue Burnley.

Not sure who you support or how long you've been watching football but you are clearly deluded. During the period you've quoted we won a number of trophies, including a title or two something Stoke can only dream of. I grant you we were poor from 1980 to 85 and from 86 to 88 but we never plumbed the depths that Stoke have managed this season. Piss poor team, piss poor attitude to the beautiful game, typical of the "English" approach to the game, all physicality, aggression and fcuk all else. All fart and no poo as my eldest son would say. Such a stone age approach to the game has no place in the 21st century.

Now that we have established bad blood doesn't just exist between Liverpool and Man U - is there anyone supporting Man U tomorrow (apart from Mick Mac, Keef, Red Devil and Sandperson) ??

Me. I always support English Teams in Europe.

As I said earlier Matthew, I am not so sure I can support them after seeing just how much glee they took, not in their own success, but in beating Liverpool.

I'll not be cheering Barca as such, but certainly wouldn't be saddened if Man U got beat.

I think United will win it though, just seems to be their season...

The glee was at winning the league, i.e beating everyone, not only Liverpool (although that was sweet, of course, as I am sure that it would be the other way round) so stop being so self obsessed. Just thought I'd clear that up for you, now I'm back off to a thread about cats or something.

Actually, before I go, I'm glad that Newcastle went down.

Radio 5 Live - Some pundit (can't identify him yet) has just said that a lot of English fans would like to see Thierry Henry win a Champions League medal. [True]

He then said because TH is the best player ever to have played in the Champions League [bollocks]

I have heard the pundits name mentioned - Sean Custis???/ from the Sun???

I expect only Arsenal fans could have the blind loyalty to think Tierry Henry is the best player ever to have played in the Champions League - surely he has been a bit part player in the competition.

Carlo Ancelotti spills the beans on his Chelsea talks with Abromovich from 12 months ago in his new autobiography.. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/chelsea/article6367805.ece

Ancelotti on Chelsea talks: ?The manager of Milan is on a secret mission, I, like 007, on my own. Sat behind a driver with the face of a killer."

Abromovich: ?Dear Ancelotti, I want to win everything. Everything.?

Ancelotti on Mourinho: ?We looked up at the television and there was his Mourinhoness, comparing himself to Jesus. I thought, ?Forgive him his sins, he knows not what he is talking about.? ?

>>Best of luck for next season<<

Same to you - but how do you feel about Beckford going already??

Blackwell is already talking about throwing in the towel, which I think would be a pity. We had a lot of bad luck with injuries - especially to strikers - and his record since Robson got booted is pretty formidable. I am not at all sure who McCabe would settle for...

    • Exactly what I said, that Corbyn's group of univeristy politics far-left back benchers would have been a disaster during Covid if they had won the election. Here you go:  BBC News - Ex-union boss McCluskey took private jet flights arranged by building firm, report finds https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp3kgg55410o The 2019 result was considered one of the worst in living memory for Labour, not only for big swing of seats away from them but because they lost a large number of the Red-wall seats- generational Labour seats. Why? Because as Alan Johnson put it so succinctly: "Corbyn couldn't lead the working class out of a paper bag"! https://youtu.be/JikhuJjM1VM?si=oHhP6rTq4hqvYyBC
    • Agreed and in the meantime its "joe public" who has to pay through higher prices. We're talking all over the shop from food to insurance and everything in between.  And to add insult to injury they "hurt " their own voters/supporters through the actions they have taken. Sadly it gets to a stage where you start thinking about leaving London and even exiting the UK for good, but where to go????? Sad times now and ahead for at least the next 4yrs, hence why Govt and Local Authorities need to cut spending on all but essential services.  An immediate saving, all managerial and executive salaries cannot exceed and frozen at £50K Do away with the Mayor of London, the GLA and all the hanging on organisations, plus do away with borough mayors and the teams that serve them. All added beauracracy that can be dispensed with and will save £££££'s
    • The minimum wage hikes on top of the NICs increases have also caused vast swathes of unemployment.
    • Exactly - a snap election will make things even worse. Jazzer - say you get a 'new' administration tomorrow, you're still left with the same treasury, the same civil servants, the same OBR, the same think-tanks and advisors (many labour advisors are cross-party, Gauke for eg). The options are the same, no matter who's in power. Labour hasn't even changed the Tories' fiscal rules - the parties are virtually economically aligned these days.  But Reeves made a mistake in trying too hard, too early to make some seismic changes in her first budget as a big 'we're here and we're going to fix this mess, Labour to the rescue' kind of thing . They shone such a big light on the black hole that their only option was to try to fix it overnight. It was a comms clusterfuck.  They'd perhaps have done better sticking to Sunak's quiet, cautious approach, but they knew the gullible public was expecting an 24-hour turnaround miracle.  The NIC hikes are a disaster, I think they'll be reversed soon and enough and they'll keep trying till they find something that sticks.
