>>Injury is not in question here Simon. He fell over without being touched to gain a penalty.<<

Wenger contends, and having seen the replay a few times I think he may well be right, that there was contact between the goalkeeper and Eduardo. That being so I think overruling the referee in this instance would set an appalling precedent.

The contact was after Eduardo did his triple back pike with an inward tuck routine...

Was Rooney already going to ground before keeper made contact? Bizarre own goal to compound matters. Perhaps it's for the better that United won, as Arsenal were otherwise magnificent and winning may have given them an unbreakable confidence for rest of season.

Watched the Liverpool game in a pub in West Kensington and it was rammed with about 100 Reds. Have to say it was a great atmosphere with plenty of singing. I thus knock the Vale on the head!

I'm pretty sure there was nothing wrong with the Rooney Pen. I wouldn't have been suprised to see Fletcher's takle being given as a pen either.

No way there's was any need for all those yellow cards and the Wenger sending off was ridiculous. I thought, all in all it was a well balanced game and a draw would have been a fair result but you just can't legislate for an own goal like that.

Yes he'd been taking lessons from the ladyboy Ronaldo.

    • It’s a flat fee levy payable by guests staying in hotel and hostel rooms, so added to the bill.  This already happens in Manchester and Liverpool ( I think in Liverpool it’s a percentage, so the more expensive rooms pay more). I read somewhere that Edinburgh is doing this next year? Charges of this kind are becoming common around the world. I think it absolutely makes sense for Southwark and other boroughs are bound to follow.
