April - Friday 3rd (The Lodge)

May - Friday 1st (George Canning)

June - Saturday 6th

July - Saturday 4th

August - Saturday 1st

September - Saturday 5th

October - Friday 2nd

November - Friday 6th

December - Friday 4th

Please note that the summer drinks have been moved to the first SATURDAY of the month and will be at pubs with a decent beer garden. That way we can make a day of it (let's hope it's sunny on those days).

Venues to be announced on a monthly basis!

Worth pointing out that the June & September dates clash with England playing football (not that I'm an England fan) - and the July date is the Springboks versus the Lions in the Rugby. So any pubs showing these games live will probably be pretty rammed during the afternoon when they're televised.

Sorry to say that I am not a fan of this idea. Its a rather large change to the format, effecting a third of the drinks sessions in the year. I'm going to find it hard to make it to these sessions as I'll generally be looking after my two little ones. Having four Saturday sessions in succession means I could miss the whole summer of drinks. Couldn't we restrict the Saturday sessions to just two of the summer sessions? Please.

Hello Georgia et al

I see the next Forum Drinks is set for Saturday 6th June - with talk of sunny weather and beer gardens and making a day of it.

Am wondering if any consensus reached about start/end time? I have something on in the evening but am not working on the 6th so could come along in the afternoon if you're planning a daytime event. Do we have a venue yet? I missed it in May - was working that Fri nite. Would love to pop along & see you all again.

I'll look out for more news!

    • I don't know how it works now but my late parents had little money when they were retired (just state pension and they rented their flat) and they used to take their cat to the Blue Cross (In Victoria if I remember correctly) where treatment was free for those who could'nt afford a private vet. I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.
    • In a couple of places locally, I have come across this. I am fairly sure that they attempt to do the bill in their head. If you just say , “no, I think it’s x” they start again and get to an agreeable number, or find a calculator. I don’t think it’s a malicious attempt to swindle people. Just not great arithmetic.
    • There are excellent charities like the Greenwich Wildlife Network who will help if you report any concerns with local wildlife. Foxes are wonderful creatures who had been forced into our town and cities and are just doing their best to survive, we should take care of them when we can.
    • Like I thought… prob like that for most of the day.. especially after people had walked their dogs, with friends, relatives  kids…
