KK, there's an excellent pub in Winchester called the Black Boy but their pub sign is quick to make it clear that the boy is a young chimneysweep blackened by his trade - I imagine the Lane refers to the same thing, not that that would stop any renaming fervour.

Nero, I don't even know what Wetwang means but it sounds filthy!

We are going to Balchik, Bulgaria for our summer holiday this year. I am going to have to go and find it now!

Near Puddletown in Dorset is Piddlehinton and Piddletrenthide (just this side of Dorcester)

There?s a place near where I grew up in SA called, Daggafontein which translated into English is, Marijuana Springs.

There is also a Wankie in Matabeleland in Zimbabwe. Although in latter years they have tried to hide their embarrassment by ?Africanising? it to Hwange. But it will always be Wankie.

What? Are you absolutely sure you don't mean the company Knob Source outside of Doncaster who sell door knobs and knockers (:))) ?

I'm not doubting you and my geography of South Yorkshire is a bit rusty these days .. so apologies in advance!

There's also one in North London, it's in the Edmonton area I think.

An ex of mine once took a coach through Muff when it was having a civic festival or somehting many years ago (Muff is tiny so it must have been a really naff festival). ANyway she said there was a banner over the road proudly declaring 'Muff Explodes!'

The mind boggles.

I suspect that village in Somerset has been mis-pronounced... the actual name, that reflects its rural heritage, is Dairy Bullocks.

    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
    • I can also strongly recommend Lukasz after he completed some floorboard repairs and some complex repairs to skirting damaged through dog chews. He is responsive, punctual, reasonably priced, detail-oriented and his work is to a very high standard.
    • Really? Yes you are probably right as I know from personal experience with Guys… as I claiming travel costs back, that no one told me I could claim! Left hand does not know what right hand is doing regarding admin..  If they charged people for wasting overstretched staff in A& E as in not urgent just might deter people from wasting precious time…. But then you need interpreters, to explain if language is a barrier and admin staff to administer..  Correct me if I am wrong but is there not a train from Denmark Hill or East Dulwich which goes to London Bridge? Would be faster than 2 buses I would have thought.    Oh, forgot about Tessa Jowell but thought you needed GP referral in which case, that would be the place to go rather than a bigger hospital. Know there is one in Beckenham and you can call and they will give you an idea as to wait time…..same I hope at TJ…assuming they answer phone.. If one really things about it…too many  people in London for example and to few hospitals…
