Necessary was one of mine for ages, until my wife took the piss and I made sure to learn it.

Restaurant and Guarantee are two that spring to mind.

I'm English so I spell it the English way rather than the US way.

Out of interest, how do you spell it?!

Hello AM..

I only checked it because I know your spelling is excellent..

I would probably use Diarrhoea .. I would need to Google it.

Or just say The Sh**s :)

Foxy

Discreet and discrete.

And, if you're a Brit writing US English (it happens), you have to learn to mis-spell words like cancelled, labelled, and clarinettist - canceled, labeled, and clarinetist to Americans. It does your head in.

    • Sorry, I know this isn't strictly an East Dulwich topic but as there are so many late-Victorian properties in the area I wondered if anyone has seen anything similar in their house and can advise. We have what looks like an old gas outlet on the back wall of our daughter's bedroom which we'd like to remove, but we weren't sure whether it's safe to do so. Do I just call a registered gas engineer to check it out? And is it definitely a gas outlet or might it be something else? It's at floor level so maybe electricity but it doesn't look like any electricity outlet I've ever seen! Has anyone had any experience of dealing with something similar?

    • End of a wonderful era. We’ve been going since it opened and even started contractions with my oldest (25 year old) son during a lovely New Year’s Eve lunch. Thank you Rod and Tim for some amazing memories.
