Ted Max
My secret, exposed. I was the only boy in a family of six sisters, all of whose wages at the match factory were tithed by my parents so I could attend the school. It was a matter of no little heartbreak to me that the other children would not accept me (turning up on my first day in hand-me-down smock and my hair in bunches didn't help), and Mr Crossbeam would never cast me in the school plays, which were of course performed in world class theatrical spaces. I twitch to the sound of Maria from West Side Story to this day. dulwichdreadlocks
Obviously this thread is a joke. I don't understand why you are considering sending ANY of your kids to public school since clearly it's outside of your socio-economic capabilities. I went to public school but then so did my sister and brothers as well as my mother and father and grandparents in their day. I think it would have been extremely weird if just one of us had been singled out to attend public school while the others went to state school. Why not invest your money in a plasma TV and get all of your kids into reasonable comprehensives? Why not invest your> money in a plasma TV and get all of your kids into> reasonable comprehensives?- DD -an interesting post by you . i have 2 sisters and 2 brothers. 1 of each went to private schools and 1 of each did not. On the grounds of cost vs academic ability. A bit weird maybe, but rather some than go than none? You assume that if you canpay 15 grand a year for 1 kid, you can also pay 60 grand a year for 4. unrealistic. AlleynAlleyn
Solution.1. Send all the kids to the nearest comprehensive. It will be good for them. Sink or swim.2. Calculate how much it would have cost you to send one of them to the fee-paying school, per month.3. Once per month, spend that amount of money on you and your partner in an activity not involving the kids. Weekends away, massages, 5 star grub etc., etc. 4. Show the kids photos reflecting how glorious was your experience. Tell them if them if they work hard at school they will be able to enjoy similar experiences when they are older. snorky
IS that whats life is really about ? making your kids aspire to be consumers like ma & pa ?why not send them off to be a boarder and send them postcards of you enjoying yourself? Good for the kids self esteem as well. make a man of him.
