It's all a bit pots and kettles here isn't it?

The forum's just a cross-section of society: you get the odd wally, wide-boy, wisecracker, gossip or shrew. Most people are pretty nice though, just as they are in real life.

It's also easy to misinterpret, to judge people through the sunshine or fog of our own lifetime experiences, again often incorrectly.

It's often possible for one man's witticism to be seen as another man's personal insult. Admin can't legislate for everything. The Spartacus issue was obvious, I'm afraid the rest are less so. They're repartee and highly subjective.

Undoubtedly if you look for problems you'll find them, intentional or not.

The easiest thing to do is look for the best in people, and look for the best in their postings.

If you can't find it within yourself to do that then maybe a chat forum, with all its challenges, isn't the best place to hang out.

Well Quids can get a genuine rise out of me on here, but I've rarely met a nicer, more decent chap in RL. I would never let experiences on here spill over into the real world.

In fact I've been trying to tempt the likes of snorky and Alan Dale out for a drink unsuccessfully for ages, and if Louisa would ever like to share a nice glass of plonk and a bite to eat at Iceland I'd be more than delighted.

I too was annoyed that I didn't know Miekcg was there as I'd have given him a big doff of hat for having the balls to come along after winding quite a few posters up, but then his online behaviour softened slightly but noticeably after that experience too.

Many of us have had to mature our approach to the EDF since its inception, and I like to think there's hope for everyone.

I'm sorry. I've not read your comments. I just wanted you to feel loved.

On the outcast bit,to reassure you, no-one's going to remove your postings unless they break rules.

As in all public speaking you'll be supported by those that agree with you, and challenged by those that disagree. It's a forum!!

If you have an unpopular opinion, then there will be a majority in disagreement. This isn't because of a gang-mentality, but because the opinion isn't widely shared.

Really now, please, relax and move along....

interesting, so I need to be slightly more clever in future so as not to upset the Emperor.

but I still don't see the problem with pointing out that someone seems frustrated and pent up ...

or was it what I said afterwards that mirrored Will's comment but in a more subtle way

I am so confused and back in the old days there was none of this issue because we didn't have the internet !!!

I hope you're not talking about me here Mike. I was introduced to you and we had a chat. I remember saying to you that you hadn't done yourself any favours by some of your postings i.e the disgusting Munich air disaster song and the waving tenners at the protestors last week but I'm pretty damned sure we got on and left it at that. I certainly don't remember hearing anyone least of all me calling you a cock at the top of their voice and if it did happen then I must of been outside smoking cigarette or getting the drinks in.

I called you a bit of cock on the thread because I felt your post had warrented it. You seemed to have wanted to pass it off as humour. What may pass for humour in your mind obviously differs from most other people.

    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
