I always understood that the site would be a new community hospital with the remainder becoming housing of some kind, probably mixture of social housing, private housing and "key worker" housing.

Normally would expect the new hospital to arise first, then a move from old into new - with the old being converted to "stylish" flats in the old Victorian building. So you're carne maybe for the new hospital?

Tho' would have thought the current housing market would mean the housing element being delayed.

There has been a consultation on the future of the NHS in Southwark which actually closed on Friday (17th April): Transforming Southwark's NHS. This specifically addressed questions on the services that would be on the old Dulwich Hospital site (page 23) - or rather the part of it that has already been cleared. Although the consultation has now officially closed I would imagine that late entries via the online response form would be accepted for a couple of days: Consultation response form

There has been no planning decision with regard to the remainder of the site although a planning brief for the site was kicked around some while ago: Draft Planning Brief

A more recent document on the planning framework in the Dulwich area has just been published which includes discussion of inter alia the hospital site (pp 23-24): Dulwich Planning Document March 2009

Unbelievably, no mention in any of these documents of a helipad for DM.

I'm not entirely sure what they're building (I've been told it's a new wing but can't be sure) but the demolition work was carried out by Erith demolition who I've been told found dangerous hydro-carbons in the soil. The building work has been awarded to the Costain group. You can contact them by phoneing 01628 842444. They're legally obliged to tell you what the project is unless it is for the MOD.

This is what I think they are going to build on the site, http://www.dulwichcommunityhospital.nhs.uk/document_view.php?PID=0000000229&DID=00000000000000000175

As for the existing Hospital, I don't know, just hope it's not bulldozed as it's probably the most impressive architecture still standing in SE22.

Are you able to elaborate on what kind of health risk, if any, these "dangerous hydro-carbons" pose?

with the old being converted to "stylish" flats in the old Victorian building.

Well they turned my lovely little school (St John's, Northcross / Archdale Roads) in to stupid trendy flats, why not do the same with the hospital I was born in! Grrr!!! :X

Out with the old and all that.

    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
    • Also, just to add, the threat to kill someone's dog and try to kick it, is an additional extremely unpleasant layer. I have noticed a lot of the burst water balloons lying around in the park too- that is not great for the environment either.
    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
