Sitting on the bus minding my own business... woman next to me, her phone starts ringing, after much frantic rummaging to find phone in rather oversized bag finally manages to retrieve the phone and takes the call... now I'm not really much of a person to listen in but... the call, to summarise was in response to a recent job interview to which the result was, to guess by the excitable bouncing up and down in the seat (her not me!), was positive! I found myself feeling rather elated for someone I didn't know!

and again.

When my cat's fur becomes 'crimped' after she comes in from the rain.

The amount of time I spent in the late 80s unsuccessfully trying to perfect that Siouxsie Sioux look with the aid of temperamental crimpers that frazzled the ends of my hair. Yet the cat manages it effortlessly.

Dragged the kilner jars out from the cupboard on the weekend and bottled up this seasons batch of sloe and damson gins. The sloe gin is rather good, but my first attempt at damson gin is truly fantastic. It smells and tastes like liqueur cherry chocolates. Mmmmm.

    • I’d also recommend Paul for electrical work. He came round the other week to help us out with a handful of jobs (installing an SPD, new light fittings, installing a dimmer switch, a bathroom fan). His quote was cheaper than what I got from others, he turned up on time and he got the job done quickly.
    • We’d like to add our recommendation for Lukasz and team at L&L Building & Maintenance.  Lukasz has recently installed a roof terrace for us, and we’ve found him a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We contacted about a dozen recommended builders and found his quote very competitive. During the build his team delivered quality work, they were no hassle in the house at all and they kept the place tidy every day. The terrace looks great, and we’re very happy customers. What stood out in particular was Lukasz’s responsiveness, right from discussing quotes to follow-up during the build. Lukasz often checked in and was always available when we needed him.  We’ll definitely contact Lukasz again for future building work and we’d happily recommend him to others looking for a reliable builder.   Lukasz Kugaczewski L&L Building & Maintenance 07926651960 [email protected] www.landl-build.com
    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
