I would just like to raise with the powers that be (and anyone else on the forum with an interest), that DulwichFox has directly contacted me and informed me that he is now no longer allowed to post on the forum and appears to have some sort of 'ban' or 'restriction' on his account and would like to know why.

He has told me that no confirmation from the administrator was given about any breaking of the terms on here but he seems certain (from what he has told me), that his account is now 'inactive'. Could someone please contact him or let the rest of us all know what's going on please? I think Foxy is a little concerned so on his behalf could you please let him know what's happening. Thanks.

On behalf of DulwichFox.

Louisa.

You or he could have PM'd me directly rather than a public notice but I guess it's more theatrical this way. Please PM me the details and we'll look into it, if his account has been compromised then it may have been locked down but we can unlock it from here.

Oh heavens, really

Let's send a special envoy to mop Fox's brow as he's pacing the lobby of his hotel, whilst wring his hands at his non existent 'ban'

Surely he's fallen down an internet wormhole in #LowTechTurkey

I say leave him to sweat it out, it's kinder. Plus I even made a sugestion of a 'Posting whilst on holiday thread' so we're hardly being mean to him. Maybe he's just loosing his marbles somewhat, or all that sun and Effes has baked his brain

Louisa,

I've been in contact with Foxy too, but did I feel the need to start a thread about this? No.

If he'd wanted me to report it to admin, I would have. In private.

Starting new threads, drawing more attention is really not a good idea.

And it's not done Foxy any favours either. Just another p*ss taking thread available.

Something not working? Immediately assume a conspiracy then make a public song and dance about it.

From what the fox has told me, I think he is somewhat concerned that he may have had his account deactivated and had not been informed of it, just quietly chucked off the forum. But admin has confirmed that isn't the case and will no doubt look into why he cannot access the forum. The fox and I have every right to be slightly suspicious. The number of troll like characters lurking on the forum who don't get banned when true ED'ers like us end up being pulled up on mild things regularly. It leads to all sorts going through your head.

Just for the record I created this thread so that others could possibly help with why he couldn't log onto his account, it was not some sort of conspiracy theory reaction, as much as you'd all love that.

Well I posted here a friendly update.

It was almost immediately removed.

Admin. I'm sure your watching . Am I banned. Why are my inoffensive posts being removed.

Please advise what the situation is ?

There is obviously one Moderat?r doing this just because they can,

Nothing has been removed/deleted from this thread

FGS so if you'd both been reading the forum as avidly as you claim to be, you'd have spotted this swift response from admin in answer to the stupendous question of whether you'd been banned or not.

Now today we have this!! Enough to put us all off our kebabs & Efes. Look at ME, its all about ME, ME, ME... as for you Louisa you knew it would come to this, as AQ rightly predicted.

"true ED'ers like us" - seriously?

If by "troll like" characters, you mean people who don't agree with everything you post and get a bit bored by the constant slagging off of everyone who hasn't lived here for the amount of time you feel is acceptable [what is that again? 7 years? 10 years? 15 years?] and everything that has grown up in ED during that time, then yes - there are a quite a few people who feel like that out there. And as for "true ED'ers" - well I have not the words and will avoid making the comment I would have done so this thread doesn't leap to Godwin's law in its first page.

I love the thought of the #TurkishSpamFilter seeing Fox's posts and binning them

I wonder what it's called

#TrojanElephant maybe?

Just to clear up a few things.

LooseChippings is an account I set up for a proposed photographic business

Unfortunately due to illness and the death of my mother this didn't go ahead,

This DulwichFox.

As you can see I can log in and post as LC but not as DF.

As both accounts would probably share the same IP it's strange that one works and one doesn't.

I come to the conclusion that DF has been manually deactivated and it

Not cloud flare or Turkish networks

To be clear, your account is still active http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/profile.php?20,20317 but for some reason you cannot login. We reset your password earlier and you should have received an email telling you so, did that not work?

    • Oh yes, it could have been about there, I can't remember exactly. At one point there seemed to be a load of pizza places opening on NCR. I vaguely remember the one we used to use was put out of business by another one which opened. Wasn't Grace and Favour's food offering more of a tea shop at the back of the actual shop? If memory serves the owner, whose name escapes me now, was one of the earliest people I know to move to Hastings. Which must now be crammed with South East Londoners 🤣

    • Hi Dogkennelhillbilly, You won't be aware that i proposed infill sites for housing in East Dulwich - the garages on Bassano Street and Henslowe that respectively became 1-4 Dill Terrace family houses and the 78, 80, 80A Henslowe Street family houses. These were council owned garages and it was frustrating how slow the council was to go from my idea to completion (roughly eight years). East Dulwich has some other vacant WW2 bomb sites I'm guessing that the private land owners have been sitting on.Owe for a land tax for vacant land.  WRT to the builders yard by East dulwich station. Southwark Council has an agreed policy the area should remain suburban 2/3 storeys maximum. But the approved scheme is 9 storeys of student accommodation. Very hard to put this genie back in the bottle. The council has recently publicly stated lower ratios of social housing will be required. I will be amazed if the developer doesn't submit another application now they have the 9 storeys approved but with significantly less social housing. The less social housing the higher the land values. The higher the land values the less social housing viability reports state are possible.  If we really want to increase home supply - Southwark have over 6,000 empty homes. Vancouver charges a low % of the value of empty homes and rapidly eased this problem. Parts of Wales have introduced under Article 4 planning permission is required for second homes seeing within 12 months a dramatic decrease in property prices. Southwark Council have Article 4 requirements - why not add this one? It takes National political will to solve this AND regional and local authorities such as the second home council tax premium and these being used promptly.
