AllforNun
6/1 Harriet Harman - seen the blueprint and it looks pretty water tight.Odds slashed by tomorrowAFN Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6527-reduce-your-mortgage-a-bit-this-month-only/ Share on other sites

mockney piers
Blears thinks it's her, blunkett will want it too. John Reid is the only one they could sell to the public. Harman could be the john major candidate, but she's tainted by sleaze, cynicism and Blair. The broomites will put someone like balls into the mix. Ed Milliband is the closest I've seen tow decent politician on their ranks, but basically they are doomed and quite rightly so. david_carnell
Alan Johnson would be my choice. I like Ed Miliband a lot but he's too young and inexperienced.John Reid is out. No way would the public have another dour Scot in No10.Blears isn't popular enough with the rank and file, ditto Blunkett.Harman would be a good outside bet but I'd want better odds than 6-1. She was dismissed too easily in the Deputy Leader elections and any other candidates would underestimate her again at their peril. matthew123
Nah I think AFN is referring to Harriott Harman being next Home Secretary.Gordon Brown is still the right person in charge for Labour - assuming they want to win the next General Election which they should do when you consider the Tories. The way David Cameron has ruthlessly dealt with his own colleagues over expenses suggests he'd not think twice about savaging things like the NHS and Education. Who would you trust Brown or Cameron? Marmora Man
I would suggest that all Labour Politicians are experiencing cognitive dissonance - the holding of two totally contradictory ideas at once. They believe that they have the right and ability to be in power and wine the next election - but at the same time they hear everyone else rubbishing this idea and telling them that they're on the way out.
