no idea how these clever computer types are making text float and move and what-not...

I'm afraid it was a bit of sarcasm in the face of all this technical wizardry and general cleverness; however, after seeing the obvious sincerity of your reply I now feel deeply ashamed of my churlish flippancy.

I'm putting myself on the naughty step. It's the only language I understand.

Thanks for the warning HAL

Because text within a marquee is not always visible, it violates the basic nature of web pages, which are eminently skimmable Users typically glance over a page and decide what, if anything, to read (using headlines, bold text, bullets, etc.), but marquees, like the, hide text at certain points, meaning at any given time, scanning the page may fail (or take longer).Links within marquees are notoriously difficult to click, and users only get one chance every time it scrolls past. This can easily frustrate users.

that'll learn me for looking when tired and failing to spot the subtler elements of piss-taking. Something that your (now that I look, extremely familiar) tone should have alerted me to... will vow not to try to be helpful unless well rested and certain that it is what is required ;-)

    • NHS subcontractors frequently use supermarket parking areas for CT and other screening. Easy to get to and park. They've done the same at Dog Kennel Hill in the past. Makes a lot of sense. And they ram in lots of timed appointments, so time critical is precisely right.
    • Your evidence for this ridiculous remark is what, exactly? You're on a roll today, aren't you?
    • There is an NHS van in the Asda car park which is a local centre for lung cancer screenings. I'm an ex smoker (haven't smoked for decades but still at risk). My appointment was at 2pm. Any other sarcastic comments? Do feel free 🙄
    • Completely agree- its absolutely obvious these people are up to no good.  Sadly, since the protests/riots of BLM, the Police are scared to do much in these situations, and let them roam free to do whatever they want.
