davidC
why is there such a lack of decent Lunch Haunts in East Dulwich? I lived in the area for about 10 years, and to be honest in that time.... there hasnt really been a good simple sandwich shop opened.Where can you get the best sandwich in East Dul? ????
The Cafe up by ED Station - (not sure if it's the new venue for Blackbird Bakery, just two doors down from the old place - does an excellent sandwich and very good value lunch deals. Try there. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6798-a-decent-sandwich/#findComment-217739 Share on other sites

ojm
Big thumbs-up for Jack's which, although slightly off the main drag, definitely gets my vote for best lunch place in the area.. blainiac
A very decent sandwich can be enjoyed in the new cafe that has opened up opposite the Plough in what was I think the old electrics shop. It is part owned by the people that run Gastronomia (West Dulwich/Herne Hill). Coffee is also very good, and they have a tiny wee garden to enjoy this lovely sun as well. Shall become my new haunt when I'm too lazy to walk down the hill to Jacks which is still the best - i have to have their chicken liver pate at least once a week or I get withdrawal symptoms. Yorkie
You're lucky you don't live/work in Peckham. Try finding a sandwich (any sandwich) at lunchtime there. Or any other time actually.
