as someone very wisely pointed out, he's swiss. being half swiss i can tell you right now without the shadow of any doubt that they are not a nation good at dressing. building design, typefaces, graphics all brilliant but dress sense just escapes them.

he's a great sportsman who delivers great viewing with his fantastic skills so no complaints here.

You'll have to forgive *Bob* for being such a blatant eurosceptic plimsoul it's just that ever since he bought that block of cheese with all those holes in it he just can't bring himself to forgive and forget.

Still, he wears Box fresh so maybe there's some room for him in the Alps.

LOL - very good.

Its time we learned, collectively, to embrace every "Johnny Foreigner" and clutch them firmly to our Manly bosoms or Female equivalent.

Lets overlook the fact that Roger is as Swiss as a Cantonese Takeaway and shower him with the praise and adulation that he, undoubtedly, deserves.

A True Champion.

I don't understand the "Swiss as a Cantonese Takeaway" bit.

You know, I've actually been to Switzerland. I have, it's true. How many people did I see with luggage or clothes bearing a gold monogram of their initials? None. Not even one (obviously "Rog" was overseas, playing in a tournament at the time).

Let's just accept the fact that while he may be awesome at tennis, he is certainly not humble.

blimey, how humble is someone supposed to be when they have just become the most successful tennis player in history?

should he bow down and say 'i'm so sorry for winning and i must remember that how i dress is going to reflect entirely on who i am as a person rather than how i behave.'

Rinse and repeat:

Can the old lags *Bob*, ???? and Jeremy make it to the second week? Why aren't there any "characters" in the game any more. Where are the dedicated, dogged and doomed baseliners as mad as T.LS (Bexley, seeded 8)? Why does nobody come to the net any more with the same desparation and hopelessness as BBW (Forest Hill, unseeded)?

Where is Narnia (Portlaoise, Qualifier) to tell us about the first Irish player in 30 years to play at the big W being a double break up in the fifth and losing.

Can the English-hating, steroid-abusing, mum shagging, pube-headed Wolfman make it past Djoko, Rafa or R-Fed? (No)

Will John Inverdale's head finally succumb to the inevitable and collapse into his neckhole, tiny eyes peering out of his shirt collar like two piss-wet pebbles?

Ted Max (Smug, 16 seed) has won the toss and will receive. Play.

There's a new Tim around. He's called Laura and he's quite a fetching wee thing with that moneyed, honeyed complexion that speaks of long days on the yacht in the summer hols. His expensive education has not been entirely wasted, though, as he has had the cunning idea of entering the Women's draw, which is bound to help.

pube-headed... spot on. Oi Murray, have a shave, you look silly.

Tim - sorry - Laura to get bageled by Sharapova in the next round.

Resurrect it I shall. The late, great, Tony London suburbs (RIP) joins Quids and El Pibe in Cynic's corner.

    • Hi, my son is nine and wants to get into playing dungeons and dragons. Does anyone know of a children’s group playing nearby? Neither me or my husband ever played so we’re at a loss as to how to help!
    • Hi, found this thread searching for similar for my 9 year old son. Did you find anything locally? Thanks!
    • A lot of this is down to why the high street came into being in the first place  consumer demand  And now times has changed and consumers behave differently.  And businesses adapt to that.  It’s a bottom up approach as opposed to something imposed upon us.   It’s not to my tastes. But what do people expect to happen.  Jazzer is on to something when he says boycott Amazon - but the reality is even many who boycott Amazon choose other or more ethical alternatives. But still online  going into town for “a shop” just isn’t what people do anymore  Yeah but that’s not a real comparison. And “for ill” glosses over a lot of wrong as well  but we live in 2025 now and any of us oldies who think when we were 20 was the best time ever, a time we should go back to are just pining for our youths  there is no country in the world that can turn back the clock.  So in 2025, where is the closest vision of somewhere you would like.  Because if you look globally you don’t just get capitalism.  You can choose dictatorships or communism too
