Hi circir, I've been to just a couple of forum drinks so far and its usually pretty obvious by the size of the crowd who's in the forum - 30+ people is not unusual, so there's no need to sport red roses or such things! I'm sure you'll feel very welcome and enjoy the evening, I know I did on my first time. I look forward to meeting you there.

A large contingent of forumistas turned up at the plough this evening. The first people I met was Ladymuck and Bookworm who were both newbies to the drinks evening. We sat with Andrew Black the photographer, and Brum who was standing in for Georgia.

Michael Paleologous joined us and soon after that I made my excuses and left to try and make contact with my eldest, whom I expected to have arrived from her hols in the usa.

The whole plough was jumping due to the ED forum populace swelling the ranks, and a good night seemed a certainty.

YES, it was a GREAT evening - Bookworm, Brewski and I left at gone 11.30pm and things were still pretty lively inside. Thanks for being such a lovely chaperone Cheeky Monkey. BTW, I believe I owe both you and Brum a drink...so here's to the next EDF drinkies!

    • As a cafe, yes. And they kept all the chandeliers they hadn't sold as an antique shop still hanging up. They had a real mouse problem, quite well covered up, however.
    • Ah yes, that's right. Didn't Chandelier sell a huge range of different kinds of tea?  That militaria shop was bonkers.
    • Spinach took over from Chandelier, which was then a cafe but had been an antique shop of the same name. Some shops up from Target Arms the militaria shop.
    • My friend and I once did a cocktail crawl down Lordship Lane.  I think we started at Black Cherry (now Franco Manca). It got off to a good start when I knocked mine over and had to buy another one. Liquorish was in there somewhere. The crawl ended with me carrying a chair and her a set of glasses, both bought from an antique shop at some point on the crawl, can't remember where and long gone. Was it where Spinach is now? Somewhere round there. The antique shop, not Spinach!
