Things you can do in "about an hour" whilst you wait for the forum to come online again.

1. Worry that all the red "new" alerts will be re-set wrongly when you log on at 10.01pm

2. Wonder if you should have deleted "that" PM before the maintenance work

3. Eat, shower, change out of last year's clothes. Treat it like a new beginning, a chance to insert new matchsticks between the eyelids and break out a fresh keyboard.

4. Watch the second half of Midsomer Murders

It'll be like the fall of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago as we say Hello to capitalism and find we have to enter our credit card details each time we want to make a post, and pop ups galore advertising grammer & spelling checkers. The Lounge will be replaced with a new section called the 'William Rose Lounge'.. so I suggest you spend that hour saving screen shots (b&w of course) for more East Dulwich posterity.

Why have the powers that be chose to make these changes after the watershed?

I reckon it'll just be like the millenium bug, a great big fuss about nothing. Either that or the eye in the sky has folded under pressure and the adverts are going to rear their ugly head.

Just so as you know Ted, you've been kicking up quite a storm over on the Clapham forum.

    • Although this sounds worrying, a "bitey" fox is unusual. I see foxes all the time where I live near Rye Lane and have never experienced this. I've even seen a fox sitting in the garden where an outdoor cat lives, whilst the cat was there - the cat was fine and is still alive. I think my flat is on a fox path because I hear and see them most nights, none of the local cats seem bothered by them. I can't help but wonder what would make the fox act in such a way, I've just read that toxoplasmosis might make them more aggressive
    • Purse with cash and cards (including photo card) found in road local to East Dulwich Tabernacle. It will be here (107 Barry Road) all day (Sunday 21 December) if you want to collect or PM me.  In case some one else who knows R Howard, please alert her.    Thank you
    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
