Narnia
Is this anything to do with your pet series The Wire Sean? I'd have though that footage of the Twin Towers being deconstructed was likely to be more stunning.
SeanMacGabhann
Nowt to do with that series Declan (shame on your disparagement tho!)It's a true story of a tightrope walker who managed to get a cable between the two towers and walk across - but much more interesting than that sounds
Narnia
Shure it wasn't disparagement at all Sean. I'm hooked by the series on the Beeb at the moment (have to record it as it's on too late) and wouldn't have realised what I was missing if it wasn't for your thread. It was your thread wasn't it? SeanMacGabhann
Ooh I misread your post as well Declan - I thought you said constructed instead of deconstructed. Sorry fellathe documentary isn't about the construction of the towers, but does include some footage which I found interesting - the deconstruction of same has been overdone. A tad. woofmarkthedog
Ohh how spooky is that!I bought a second hand copy of "High trees" by Phil LarkinInside as a book mark was an old postcard of the twin towers.........Spoooooooky

Keef
Watched this a week or 2 ago. Was enjoying it, but by the end I was bored and just thought the main man was a bit of a tit.
woofmarkthedog
I can't wait for the bit where he falls through a time portal and ends up in last weekOh......the look on his face.....priceless!
sazzle
Keef - I agree with you on this one. It starts to drag on a bit. As a documentary its fine but I can not understand why it was released in cinemas as if it was a film. Apart from making money of course!
JetSetWilly
watched it on dvd a few weeks ago, to be honest its a bit long and boring to boot
charliecharlie
amazing how obsessive and self-indulgent individuals can conjure up such commitment and loyalty from other apparently sane people...why? is what I say...some sort of beauty..http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NLm-kb2ZGis/SOMYo08RuLI/AAAAAAAABB0/fPiRQ8A_XYo/s400/man_on_wire.jpgbut what for????? LegalEagle-ish
It was way to boring for me to watch more than about 10 minutes. Sorry Sean.
charliecharlie
it is something to do with trying to be being omnipotent... lying on the wire christ like... defying the earthly??? I'm trying to understand what he/it's about? "magical, profound" his co-helpers say??? not sure myself???
SeanMacGabhann
I would definitely agree with the criticisms of it being too long and him being less than endearing. But for all that I still found it valid. The mix of recreations and very personal film footage from the time was another plus for me
Keef
I liked his mate, although crying about it is a bit, well you know, French.
