HonaloochieB
No you're not being daft, it does run on Sunday and will deliver you to the busiest train station in the world in about 30-40 minutes.I won't enquire as to exactly why you're going to 'that place', but enjoy yourself. SeanMacGabhann
It runs and I use it fairly regularly these daysJourney planners are Oooo kaayyy ish, but left to default settings they will suggest multiple routesI've just asked it for a direct route to Clapham on Sunday, With buses only and it has come back with the 37 for every journey, no changesIt used to be a shocking service, frequency wise, but it is much better of late Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7416-does-the-37-not-run-on-a-sunday/#findComment-234883 Share on other sites

Scylla100
I ran into the same problem last week and called transport for London. The guy on the phone apologised for their journey planner and said they knew it wasn't working properly. I just wanted to make sure the 37 was running and it took the TfL guy awhile to find the bus and tell me, yes, it was running. Is it me or is the journey planner getting worse? I had a one hour journey yesterday timed, by the planner, as 1h 40m (so I was very early to my appointment).Scylla Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7416-does-the-37-not-run-on-a-sunday/#findComment-234902 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
I wouldn't say it's getting worse - but it is an imprecise tool because of the nature of moving so many people around London. What were the details of the journey? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7416-does-the-37-not-run-on-a-sunday/#findComment-234915 Share on other sites
beaver14uk
Bear in mind because it is holiday time there is less traffic on the roads so journeys do tend to be quicker than normal.Scylla100 Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> I ran into the same problem last week and called> transport for London. MrBen
Imagine if you could link the TFL route database to a new real time journey planner that worked off the GPS feature on your iphone/mobile.So that wherever you are you simply type in the destination only and it gives you your fastest route and time of the next tube/bus/tram/train in your vicinity.Does this exist yet or should I be giving Dragons Den a call? Optimist...Early evening 37 services on the weekend are, frankly, a disgrace. Pandora
An alternative to the 37 (depending on where you live) is getting the Victoria train from Peckham Rye and changing at Battersea Park for Clapham Junction, takes under half an hour. Using GPS techology in buses there will be an application which will tell you what time the next bus will come to your stop on your phone/pc. And it will be more reliable than the old countdown system at stops. V v useful... although subject to the usual Journey Planner oddities still. mikese22
Or any bus to Camberwell, get off by Nando's and cut through to Coldharbour Lane and pick up several buses that go to Clapham Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7416-does-the-37-not-run-on-a-sunday/#findComment-235422 Share on other sites
thexwinglessxbird
An alternative root would be to take the 185 to the Oval & then the 155 to Clapham.I take the 37 to & back from Clapham on Sundays, but the 37 bus seems to take forever. I don't understand this, as when I am in Clapham, the 37 bus appears regularly. ianr
There are also trains from Peckham Rye/Denmark Hill to Wandsworth Road at 20 and 50 minutes. Journey time 9 minutes from PR. Then iirc there's the 77(a) bus direct. Though I think Pandora's two train stratagem (jouney time 25 min) would be hard to beat for a speed/predictability combination.
