Help...

Ok, i need the combined experience and discerning tastes of the whole East Dulwich forum team to help me out with this one;

Can somebody help me find a traditional south london pub?

Doesn't have to be Dulwich based, (which could be rather tricky these days!)

No re-furbed gastro pubs allowed.

Must be as i described. Needs 'character', old style architecture, good range of beverages, and, well that boozer 'x-factor' that seems to be disappearing.

The place i'm after doesn't have to be chocolate box pretty, or tourist friendly, it could even be described as 'manky' in the right light.

It just needs to be real.

(Oh, and i'll happily say why i'm after such a place if i get enough help with this!)

Looking forward to your suggestions.

That's pretty helpful, thanks for your thoughts...

Sadly all 5 are no more Pgc...

Remember the resident weekend Group thru' the 1970's/Early 1980's at The Beckett?

Blunderbuss or Laurie and Co, Pcg?

So why're you after such a place, PB?

My god red devil, I was invited to a 30th birthday party there 3 years ago . I went along thinking 'give people a chance' What a Chav Hole! Most uncomfortable. As soon as i walked in the women tried to 'stare me out' ready for a fight . Have to add , i sacked the 'friend' after that

It's definitely 'a rites of passage' type establishment Daizie, the last time I went there was the night of the Soho nail bomb, I was with some workmates on a stag do at Wimbledon dogs, afterwards we planned to go up to Soho, but because of the bomb we decided not to, and I suggested the Queen Anne as an alternative, I'm still having therapy for the 'mother and daughter' act I witnessed that night...

    • Hi all, Not sure if this is the correct place to ask but I am looking for someone in the local area who can make a cake/ cupcakes for my event? Thank you in advance!
    • I’ve just seen this notice for extending DYL’s but I’m confused as to how long the extension will be. Is it going to be from LL to no.2 Bawdale Road? Or 3M from no 2 Bawdale Road? i) add new lengths or extend existing lengths of ‘DYLs’ (i) in ASTBURY ROAD west side opposite Nos. 3 and 5 Astbury Road (5m), (ii) in BAWDALE ROAD on both sides south-east of its junction with Lordship Lane (22m on the side of No. 157 Lordship Lane, 3m o/s No. 2 Bawdale Road, and 10m opposite No.2 Bawdale Road),
    • If they're not sure they should at least be able to provide a range: reasonably best and worst case scenarios.  It's embarrassing.
    • I would report this to the police - the footage is excellent and he's pretty distinguishable. This won't be his first time doing this and it will help police link him to other crimes by cross-matching your CCTV to other surveillance. Definitely contact them.
